Need your help picking out a photo

The 1st one I'll have to edit out the birds at the top because I didn't even know they wre birds til I printed out the pic. Oh and that concrete box thing is a vent, I can't get around it when taking a picture, unfortunately.

cameragirl21 replied: well, one if vertical and the other is horizontal...is your cover going to be vertical or horizontal b/c that alone could make your decision, assuming the pic is meant to take up the entire cover.
I would like the first pic best if you hadn't cut off the top of that dome thing so I will go with the second but they are both good pics.
what is that concrete thing on the grass though?

ETA to explain. I can see a lot more of the building in the first whereas the second one looks so far away. The trees look really pretty also, I think it's a beautiful pic, the building is really nice. Where are you at again Karen, it looks familier?

coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. The big concrete thing is a vent. I never noticed them before until taking the pictures and I asked my boss what they were. As far as signs....the capitol is downtown and there are signs and stoplights all over the place, very hard to capture the capitol without some of them, unfortunately. As far as capturing the top (flag pole) in the pic, it's also very hard to get a good close up type pic of the whole thing because of buildings down in that area. Hard to explain, I guess. I can get whole capitol pics with the flag pole but they are very distant looking, not close up.

I took several more that I liked better, I took about 40 pics. My boss is the one who narrowed the pics down to these two, not my picks, but oh well.

ETA: Jennifer - I do not know how the cover is going to look actually. I do not believe it's going to take up the whole cover. Like I said I'm new at this, very amatuer and thankfully the person hiring me to do this knows this so I hope he's not expecting the world. Because he isn't going to get it.
