Need some positive vibes for my mom & dad

coasterqueen wrote: The day before Megan's 1st birthday party my dad was rushed to the hospital with signs of a heart attack or stroke. He was in the hospital over night and my mom didn't even call to tell me til Saturday morning (he was in Thursday evening and wasn't released til Friday night). I even called her at work on Friday and the gals there covered for her. She didn't want me worrying with Megan's party and all. rolleyes.gif Anyways, he turned out to be ok, might have some blood pressure issues, but he's ok. He has me worried day and night, though. sad.gif My great grandfather and my grandfather all died in their mid 50's. Most of the men on my dad's side died in their 50's sad.gif. My dad is now 52 and my grandpa was 54 when he died of cancer. So of course I just think if these things and worry. blush.gif

My mother left me a message Friday evening all frantic and I was for sure something was wrong with my dad. Well much to my suprise it wasn't. My mom was fired from her job of 20+ years Friday. sad.gif She was fired because of her 'attitude' they said. I'm still in shock because I just can't believe she was fired. She's been there for so long. My mom was warned many times about her attitude and they finally just couldn't take it anymore I guess. I'm so worried about her because she's already severly depressed and on heavy medication for it. My parents will lose their insurance because she's the one with it. Sure she can go Cobra but they can't afford to do that. sad.gif I think she's going to have a hard time finding a job. Also, I'm in the same industry as her pretty much and I feel like I should help her out but how can I ask people to give her a chance when she was fired for a bad attitude? sad.gif I don't know what to do. With her severe depression, now losing her job, my dad and his health issues, the insurance issue AND my grandma being very very ill I'm really worried about her.

Could you please send some positive vibes there way? Thank you. sad.gif blush.gif

I'm sorry things are going so rough for your parents Karen. Here's some PT & Ps for you and your family.

MyLuvBugs replied: Oh sweetie that's horrible. sad.gif hug.gif hug.gif Prayers and Positive thoughts for them and you. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

jcc64 replied: Oh, Karen, when it rains, it pours. I'm sorry your family's having a rough time. I know how your mom feels- I'm about to lose my job of 19 yrs as well- it's a very scary feeling. I guess I would hold off on trying to coach her into another job until things settle down with your dad a little bit. All you can do for now is love her and support her, and try to get her to attend to the things that are driving her depression and her behavior at work so she can eventually get her career back on track. Big hugs to you and your whole family.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Aww Karen.. I am praying for everyone. I am so sorry. I can understand all your worries though. I often worry about my Dad' health..and Your Mom..wow!

My2Beauties replied: hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif and many more hug.gif hon! I'm so sorry about everything that is going on. Does the reason she was let go have to be told to her next potential employer? Where I work at, if a third party verifies someone's employment (especially if it's another company they are trying to get hired on at) we cannot give them specifics on their termination, we cannot even say whether they were fired or left, all we can say is their last day of employment. Is this her company's policy as well, she should find out, then she shouldn't have a problem getting another job. I don't see how a company can let someone go after 20+ years of service to them. Did she have retirement or anything, sounds fishy to me if she did. dry.gif

amynicole21 replied: Oh man. I'm sorry sad.gif I hope everything works out.

I fear that will happen to my Mom any time now. She has been at the same place for over 20 years and also has a terrible attitude... unsure.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Gosh your poor parents LOTS of P&PT'S for them!!!!! hug.gif hug.gif

DansMom replied: That is rough sad.gif hug.gif I'm so sorry your parents are going through this all at once.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. My mom does not have retirement there. They pay her next to nothing too. dry.gif She makes 1/2 of what I make and she's been there for 20 years. dry.gif I honestly don't think there is anything anyone can do to help my mom out with her depression and attitude. She's just like my grandma. They both have a few screws lose, want everyone to think they owe them something and make excuses for everything as to why things are the way they are. She's not going to change. As a matter of fact as she's gotten older (and she's young) she's gotten considerably worse. I don't know how my father lives with her. That's another story though. rolleyes.gif

I just know for now she's completely unstable. She's threatened to commit suicide before and was hospitalized because of it. And with last year's event with my aunt (not her sister, it's my dad's sister but they were very close) and my mom's depression I fear this. I don't know why, but I do. sad.gif

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Sending my thoughts and prayers your way. hug.gif

kimberley replied: oh hon i am so sorry. many p&pt her way. i hope she finds something soon and i will pray for your grandma too. any chance you could convince your mom to get meds or go to therapy before things hit rock bottoom?

luvmykids replied: Wow, thats a lot for a family to handle all at once! Prayers and pt's to ALL of you! hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: Many P&PT for you & your family. hug.gif hug.gif

b&bsmom replied: My Dad has just gone through the whole finding a new job thing. He was fired for attutide ( sort of ) and then he got hired somewhere else and two weeks later laid off and now has finally found a new job and I hope it will keep. It is tough. He was miserable and he had told my sister if he had had a gun in the house he would have killed himself. Makes you worry. Hang in there. Things happen for a reason maybe there is something better headed her way. Lots of P&PT's headed your way. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Karen, I'm praying for your mom and dad hug.gif I bet it will all work out. hug.gif
