Need some p&pt's please
coasterqueen wrote: I didn't want to say anything til I knew for sure, but DH is not being understanding and I'm not ready to tell anyone IRL yet, and I really needed to talk to someone.
I have taken a few hpt's and there is a faint line there, so it appears that I'm pregnant. I should be excited but I'm scared. First I've done too much reading because I've heard a lot about false positives so that's got me freaked out. AF isn't supposed to show up til Wednesday so I don't feel I'm out of the clearing yet.
Second, I've been having a LOT of symptoms of PG (some similar to Af, though). I've been naseaous BIG TIME, lower back pain, indigestion, cramping, sore breasts, etc. But last night I had some constant lower back pain and went to the bathroom and was very very very lightly wiped and there was a pink tinge to the toilet paper. The same thing this morning.
I put a call into my doctor and am waiting to hear back as to what I should do, but I am so nervous. I didn't have spotting or this cramping and constant lower back pain with Kylie.
I don't know whether to be excited or scared. I just feel like crying. DH is being very insensitive. I know it's just that he doesn't know what to say. I'm just so scared if this is a miscarriage.
I feel in my heart I'm pregnant, though. Well the test says I am, but am I miscarrying or is this normal. Please, anyone have any thoughts for me.
I could really use some p&pt's just in case.
Jamison'smama replied: According to my doctor there are not false positives so --Congratulations!! Implantation bleeding? My good friend had it---she thought it was the beginning of her cycle and it sounds like the same thing to me. I haven't read up on it but what do your sources say about that?
~~~~ Sending Baby dust and positive thoughts your way~~~~
DansMom replied: I had what I thought was a light period when Daniel was implanting---try not to worry. Take deep breaths... it's always scary and it's very normal to have mixed feelings and a touch of panic about the prospect of pregnancy and a new baby, even when you've planned for it. Sorry DH is being weird Maybe he's scared too?
Congratulations!! Just give it time to sink in...
jcc64 replied: Had the same thing with Corey. Took a hpt, was positive, then started cramping and spotting right around the time I was supposed to be having a period. Was totally convinced I was losing the baby, but was out of the country at the time and did nothing. It eventually stopped, and went on to have a normal pg. I know it's a wacky time emotionally. Like Tracy said, take a breath and take one day at a time.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Sending tonds of positive thoughts, I had a AF for the first few months of my PG, if I had know I was PG I would have been scared but I did not know and I was told its more and more commen for women to bleed during PG, like having a AF, and it could have just been implation bleeding. So until you know for sure try not to worry. (((BIG HUGS)))
jem0622 replied: P&PT for you. Not sure if you were aware, but you can have AF symptoms during the normal time you'd see AF...even during your entire pregnancy. You can have cramping and spotting and it is all normal. What you could be seeing is implantation bleeding...especially if it is light. If you are having cramps that cause you to double over and are having excessive bleeding or see clots then contact your OB asap.
I would ask for them to check your hCG and your progesterone. Your progesterone should be 18 or above. If it isn't then I would strongly urge you to get on a supplement. Your progesterone can be low especially if you are nursing.
Update us soon!
amynicole21 replied: I agree with the implantation bleeding theory... it's very normal and this would be around the time you would see it, if not a bit earlier. Ask your doc to do a blood test though, just to ease your mind. Keeping my fingers crossed that you are preg!!
coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. I've talked with the nurse and she basically said what Julie said about the bleeding and cramping. So that's good, I'm not having the red blood (sorry tmi) just light pink and mild cramping.
I am concerned about the progesterone levels since I am nursing so I have a call back into the nurse/doctor. I had requested a blood test and the nurse said it wasn't necessary since I've tested several times and got a positive, but I told her I'm scared and want reassurance so she said the doc would call me back later today so I will add the issue of the progesterone levels too.
Thanks everyone. Any p&pt's you've got to spare while I'm waiting will be great.
I'm sure it's just implantation bleeding, but my personality has me freaked out. ROFL. I'm just too afraid to get excited yet, until I have reassurance from the doc .
MommyToAshley replied: Lots of P&PT coming your way.
Please let us know what the doc says.
Boys r us replied: YAY!! Congrats Karen!!!
With Braedon, I had some implantation bleeding..sounds like that's what it could very well be, especially seeing as how that would be taking place about right now, given the cycle you're in!
Good Luck!!!!
jem0622 replied: Karen...do tell them that you would like to have the progesterone checked. I'm saying this b/c I was nursing Gabe a few times daily when I was pregnant with my angel. I had never had my levels checked before. I know that I lost my angel because my progesterone was never checked. If your OB is really against it then call your primary doctor and ask them to check your hCG and progesterone for possible pregnancy. Tell them that you think you are pregnant but are not getting an accurate reading on your HPT.
I was tested with the twins and my level was a 12. The acceptable level is at least 18. I took 400 mg of prometrium (progesterone) until wk 10 and then 200 mg until wk 12.
Nursing and age can cause your levels to drop. Let us know how it goes!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: It sounds to me just like implantation bleeding. I read up on it when I thought I was pg a couple of months ago. If you are getting positives then I am going to say that you are pg. Here's some PB&Ts and Congrats.
mummy2girls replied: (((HUGS)))) i had implatation bleeding with jenna. just what you explained. 2 days after tested and i was preggo!
i felt mild cramping in early pregnancy also. keep us updated please!
chloe&tysmommy replied: Sending you lots & lots of P&PT your way Karen!
I hope your doctor can ease your mind and do a blood test on you. I think if the bleeding is light than it's more than likely implantation bleeding. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that everything will be alright!!
I also had cramps and thought for sure I was getting af (they were that strong) but later found out I was pregnant with Chloe
Keep us posted!
Congratulations!
Guest_angelhair replied: karen , just to reassure you, I to this week when I wiped the toilet paper had a light pink tinge and was scared but lo and behold a ultrasound today showed a baby developing and growing normally. I am almost two months along and was told that the ultrasound looks great!!! I would talk to your doctor if you need reassurance though otherwise it might stay in your mind. congrats I got a very faint line using answer early preg test three days before af was due and it was correct. it is probably faint because the amount of hcg in your system is very low due to the earliness of your preg.
coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone for all your p&pt's. I've talked directly with my doctor this afternoon and she has ordered me to take a blood test and a progesterone level test this evening. So she is going to call me sometime tomorrow with the results. I'm sure it won't be til late afternoon, but that's like a doctor's office to make you wait, lol. Course I'm not getting the test done til later this evening so it's understandable.
Anyways, so hopefully tomorrow I'll have piece of mind if I am pregnant and if my progesterone levels are way too low to have a viable pregnancy. As soon as I told her I was nursing she said "oh my gosh, you should have told the nurse that this morning, we definitely need to check your progesterone levels!". (P.S. thanks Julie! )
I'll let you all know as soon as I do what the results are. Until then it's a waiting game I don't like playing.
AshleyRose replied: I am glad that you are going to the doc (or went last night ) First of all, when I first got pregnant I did the reading too (going on tons of pregnancy sites and reading about false positives..etc). And on top of the stressfullness of me worrying I had a false positive, Brad was freaking out as well. Just not being supportive and distant... like spaced out all the time. Then everyone and their brother was saying "well, my first pregnancy was a chemical pregnancy so that may be what is happening to you." So there I am freaking out, reading hundreds of articles on all kinds of stuff and Brad isn't even being supportive ON TOP OF IT! Everyone was telling me that if I wait a week from the first day of my missed period then I was in the clear. And that week was the most not fun week ever.
So I have been there... I wouldn't worry. You will be just fine and you will find out this late afternoon for sure. Do not worry, just take it easy and relax... everything will be fine, Im sure. Also, if you just relax time tends to pass by quicker instead of if you were sitting down but felt like you were running 3948 miles an hour cuz your mind is racing. Worrying is no fun either, it just makes your tummy hurt .
Keep us updated! I know EXACTLY what your going through...
momof2girls replied: Your in my thoughts! I know Ive posted this before, but I had some light bleeding my entire 2ng pregnancy and my Kiley is totally healthy! Knock on wood!
Let us know what happens!!!!
jem0622 replied: Karen (and all) - I just wanted to clarify on something because the whole matter of progesterone and testing for it is controversial for some doctors. A low count does not mean your pregnancy is not viable. That is absolute hogwash! Your body is responsible for producing it for the first trimester and then the placenta takes over. So it is your body that has to make enough and if there is a serious change in your progesterone as the placenta takes over then it could cause miscarriage. But it is not because the baby wasn't viable. It is the hormone. Do not think that your pregnancy is not viable b/c of low progesterone! Just take the supplement until week 12 if you need and if that was the only detected problem you will likely have a safe and happy 9 mos!
So Karen...if it's low then go on the supplement!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: CONGRATULATIONS! I also had these symptoms when I was pregnant with Claudia and in my case it turned out to be a UTI. I would have your doctor check for this as well. Please update us as soon as you get the results back! I'm so excited and anxiously waiting to hear some news!
Guest_angelhair replied: karen, I know the wait is tough. in some cases, numbers really do not matter and I speak from experience. while I never had a prog checked, my hcg level was all over the place and not doubling and I was told to expect the worst. instead everything turned out fine so far and am now almost two months with a great ultrasound done on monday. could see the beby deveoping with a nice strong heartbeat of 160 beats per minute. so there are no really hard and fast rules. I believe every womens body is dfferent. I know how stressful this week must be for you. looking foreward to a update love dee
A&A'smommy replied: WOW Karen that is wonderful that you got pregnant so fast! Congratulations! (((BIG HUGS))) and LOTS of P&PT'S your! Please keep us updated!
amynicole21 replied: OK, I just had this too! AF still hasn't showed up, and as of yesterday all preg tests were negative. I've been having light cramping and a tinge of pink on the toilet paper... I hate not knowing what's going on! Why do these things always happen on weekends?
