Need some P&PT"s - also I have a question

A&A'smommy wrote: Some friends of Jeremiah and I got a nice weekend away well her mother was keeping her and Lora-lei got REALLY bad constipated well at some point she had a seizure (SCARY) she is in the hospital and sometime either tomorrow or tuesday they are sending her to a childrens hospital to see a neurological doctor but the ones here seem to think it was just because she was SOOO badly constipated. Anyway the nurses here are telling them to ONLY give her juices, 7up and jello okay she is four months old and this seems REALLY odd to me what do you all think?

Also need P&PT's that it was just because she was constipated

jacobsmama replied: Prayers I"m sooo sorry. Jacob has had 2 seizures they were both from a fever but I was sooooo scared so I know what they are feeling to a degree. Please let them know we are praying for them!

C&K*s Mommie replied: not sure what to think. If Jacob had a seizure because of a fever, I suppose the docs know what they are talking about in this case.

I don't know either. That's very odd for a 4 month old to be that constipated. Is she on solid foods? (sounds to early for that) Hum, I guess I have more questions than answers right now.

Fluids is the key to constipation. I hope she will get better fast. And I also hope they will run additional tests, to rule other possibilities out first, before they blame it on constipation.

Keep us informed. I will be praying for her. Poor sweetie!

well no its not too uncommon for a infant to be really constipated expecially if its a medical problem.... something i know all to well... They should maby test her for the reasons behind the popping... Has she laways been that way? Becaus eif its a new thing aby its the formula she is drinking...

It does seem strange for them to say to give 7-up and jello to a four month old. Juice makes sense, and cutting out solids... I can also see if she is on formula to try switching it. But no breast milk or formula? I just don't know.

A&A'smommy replied: The said no formula she had never been nursed but she is on similac with iron which is the cause for her constipation they have been trying to get her formula changed but the doctor (they doctor my daugter saw before we finally changed to a ped) said that it was fine so anyway she is home today and seems to be doing fine I guess the next step is her seeing the neurologist!! Anyway send them as many P&PT'S as you can I'm sure they would appreciated it, its been a rough couple of days for them!
