Need help and/or ideas

MomToMany wrote: DH told me yesterday that the cables I work on at home might be moved back to in-house assembly, meaning I wouldn't work on them anymore & they would hire people to work on them at the company. This would be BAD for our finances, since my income from them is pretty close to DH's if not more (depends on how many I get done). I get paid by the piece, not an hourly wage.

There's no WAY we could make it on DH's income alone. And we couldn't afford daycare for me to go out and work. So I would need help trying to find something I could work at home on that needs little to no training, and has a steady income (wishful thinking, I know rolleyes.gif ).

Any ideas or resources?

TIA!

ediep replied: maybe you could sell those diapers you make on ebay?

Good Luck!

aspenblue1 replied: I am not sure but I know there are adz for in home in back of partenting magazine. I am not sure how reputable they are.

MomToMany replied: Thanks for the ideas. I guess I could try selling stuff on eBay, but not sure how good that will be. I'm looking for steady income.

A&A'smommy replied: would you want to keep other people kids? Like maybe have an in house daycare or something... dunno.gif I will try to think of something maybe try WAHM.com

mckayleesmom replied: Maybe you can make jewelry or something and open a little ebay store. Do you have a sewing machine? Maybe make baby quilts and stuff.

mckayleesmom replied: Maybe your dh can talk to them and see if they can make an exeption and keep you on staff....Wouldn't hurt to ask.

kimberley replied: dont knock ebay til you try it! many SAHM's have made profitable businesses with their Ebay stores. your stuff is so cute i am sure it would sell. and if you can sew, you can also make slings, onesies with sayings or tie dyed, personalized embroidered blanket and other stuff. just be creative wink.gif

only other thing i know if is childcare.

MomToMany replied: Hmmmm, that's an idea. I'll have to talk to DH about it & see. I'd also like having a website & selling cloth diapers, but I think that would cost too much upfront.

Thanks for the ideas!

TANNER'S MOM replied: http://www.onesite.com/

Offers free website building and publishing. It also allows you a free domain for a year.

I built a website with them for an assocation I am with .. and it has gotten 6725 hits.. in a few months.

Just make sure you do the web advertising, that means that when people go to google or yahoo.. your site will be one of the first they see. And that also is free.

Then all you need is a paypal account.. you can be paid for your services and then your shipping will be covered before you go to Ups or whereever.

Alice replied: Try www.allworkathomeideas.com

They have lots of ideas for WAHM's, with a brief outline of what's involved in each.
