sparkys2boys wrote: Cameron's b-day is next month(turning 6) and I always do a huge splash for there b-days! He will be inviting all of us k-garten class and will be the first party with friends and not just family. I am thinking of doing a fireman/truck theme and need any ideas to go with this. This is what I have so far. DH knows alot from the fire house so we are going to ask if ..
1.. they have a room that I could have the party in(will pay) 2.. if they will give the kids a little tour around and show them the trucks If there is no place to have party right there then I will do it here at the house and then take them all over there for the tour! I am making a fire truck cake and will buy those plastic dress up fire hats to turn into treat bags. Make a pin the spots on the dalmation (sp) dog game. And thats where I run out of ideas..lol. Any help here?? What about decorations?? Any other games??
Crystalina replied: OOO Maybe they can give the kids a quick fire safety talk! Parents would love that and the kids can learn something.
Here is a site with a few ideas.
Crystalina replied: Here is another.

This one has some NEAT game ideas!!
sparkys2boys replied: Thanks ladies!! Keep the ideas coming!!
austins mom replied: I dont know about where you live but you might wanna search.. i know there is a co here that takes the kids for rides in the fire truck.. check into that..
MommyToAshley replied: Sounds like a great party... pretty unique and original. The kids are going to have a blast.
Games...hmmm
Have two teams... who can roll the fire hose up the fastest. I wouldn't use "real" fire hoses as I think they'd be too heavy.
Not really a game, but something neat. Ashley went to safety village and at the end of the week, the firemen brought out a smoke trailer that simulated what smoke would be like in a real fire. The kids practiced crawling on their knees to the other end. It was educational, but the kids loved it and did it over and over again. You can ask the firestation if they have something like that.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I have no additional ideas, you have good ones already. But I wish you the best- it sounds like it'll be a fun party.
sparkys2boys replied: WHOHOOOO.. I just called the fire station to ask if they do tours and DO THEY!!!! They will give the kids a tour, do some demo's, teach some fire safety and let the kids in the trucks, and weather depending will give drives in the fire engine!! And to top that off they will let me have the hall upstairs to host the party!! And for only $20.00!!! Can you imagine!!! Saves me the mess in the house and makes for a bigger open room to play games in!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I was thinking about your post last night as I got into bed. It is such a fun idea, one I would love to do for my boys when they get older. I'm happy that the station is offering up their room for you and for only $20, you can't beat it. I used to plan activities for my MOMS Club and we often had our events in a fire station's community room. They do have rules as far as food and drinks go, at least our's did. We also had to vacuum and empty the trash when we were done. Could be because some other group messed it up at one time, but they stopped allowing us to have food/drink, but the guys were always so nice and often gave the kids tours of the truck.
This was just one idea I thought of last night....And maybe the guys at the station will allow it. But maybe ask if you could borrow some of their gear. Have a timer and time each kid getting all the gear ON and then OFF. Whoever has the fastest time, wins a prize. We had one of the moms dress up in the gear once and the kids absolutely loved it, just watching her get on the big boots and pants, it was hilarious! Another idea, if it's warm outside, is maybe the guys (I shouldn't say all fire people are guys) will let the kids wash the truck. Just getting out the hoses and some suds would be a lot of fun for the kids.
Have fun!
ETA: Just thought of something else....We made baked goods as a thank you once, for the fire station. What about bringing in a bunch of craft supplies and make one HUGE card to say thank you. The kids can all decorate it together, maybe adding their handprints or cut-out fire hats.
msoulz replied: Wow, that is fantastic! And what a great idea - way to go mom!!!!
sparkys2boys replied: We are allowed food I asked first thing..lol! It wont be warm enough here to wash the trucks but what a great great idea that is! Love the thank you card idea and I will be using that. Our dept doesn't have people at the station all the time so making food was going to be a waste.. kwim so I think I will buy alot of coffee gift certificates and just leave them there so that the guys(no women at ours..lol) can get a coffee on there way home after a call.
Crystalina replied: $20???????? Wow!
Calimama replied: That's awesome!!!
