Need advice... walking weird and with limp

MommyToAshley wrote: Ashley has always walked normal... well as normal as a toddler can walk. Anyways, today DH took Ashley to the library for story time. When they got back, DH said that she was walking with a limp. I took her shoes off and looked at her foot and touched different places on her foot and her legs and she said nothing hurt. (She is good about telling you if something hurts) And, nothing seemed tender, not even the arch of her foot. So I watched her walk barefoot and she was turning her foot in (like pigeon toed) and walking on the outside of her foot. We thought maybe she just slept on it wrong or something, but she did this the entire day. Any ideas? If she is still like this tomorrow I guess I will have to take her in to be checked.

kit_kats_mom replied: I think this may be the age of expeimentation with their bodies. I just noticed K walking with her toes curled under. She did that for most of the day today. Yesterday it was walking on her heels. wacko.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: how is it today? wonder if she is just doing it for 'fun' and will try another way of walking. Could just be a phase and she is trying things out.

MommyToAshley replied: She did it as soon as she got out of bed this morning. I would think that if she were doing it for fun, she would forget sometimes. She is walking like that 100% of the time. I think I will take her to get it checked out.

Mandasmomma replied: Did she twist her ankle maybe?? I hope all is oaky - let us know!!

coasterqueen replied: Let us know what you find out. How weird.

Kaitlin'smom replied: did you ask her why she is walking like that, I am just thinking since she is so smart she mgiht be able to tell you, but I don't know. and maybe she did step on something and it might not hurt whe you push on it but when she walkes on it. I hope its nothing

DVFlyer replied: It definitely won't hurt to give her Dr. a call. We just found out that some friend's 2 year old as Rhumatoid Arthritis in is feet (or ankles, can't remember). It's something he'll probably grow out of, but it's very sad.

Hoping for the best for you smile.gif

redchief replied: I'm with you... ask the doc. Good luck.

ediep replied: wierd....how is she doing today? i was going to say maybe her shoes are too tight, but since you said she did it even barefoot... that may not be it.

Good Luck

kimberley replied: my brother used to do that and ballet class corrected him blink.gif . weird eh? let us know how the doc went. grouphug.gif

Becky74 replied: Oh that is strange I agree with you it would seem she would forget about it, did you get it checked out?

MommyToAshley replied:
I did ask her, but she jsut says "nothing is wrong, Mom." I ask her if it hurt when she walks and she says no.

It did get a little better towards the end of the day yesterday, so I didn't take her to get it checked. I will keep an eye on it, but if it doesn't improve I will take her to the Ped.

It is just so weird, she has never had problems before and she says that it doesn't hurt. dunno.gif
