Need a double umbrella type stroller

or a better one? We're flying with both kids in a few weeks and I'd love to have something like this for the airport.
coasterqueen replied: I have the one below. A Chicco Oxford Twin Velocita Double Stroller. I love it, but there are a lot of people who hate it. It is hard to fold out, but I'm sure it's because I'm doing something wrong. I'd just read some reviews. I wouldn't go with mine because most people don't like what I do. But I like it.
aspenblue1 replied: My friend has jeep one and she loves it.
coasterqueen replied: Carrie made me think of something. I really liked the jeep stroller too. The only problem was Kylie couldn't sit in it because she's so tall. All the double strollers we tried were that way, the Chicco was the only one that gave her a tiny bit of extra room. I'd say try them out if you can first if you think Sophia might be too tall for them. Kylie complained about everyone we tried and the tandem ones (front/back) her legs were too long she complained about not enough room to get in and out.
MommyToAshley replied: I remember reading somewhere that more people like the double strollers that have one seat in front of the other because the side-by-side ones are hard to maneuver through doorways. Don't know why I read that ... obviously I don't have a double stroller. But, just thought I would pass that along.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Like Dee Dee, I have no need of one. My sister, however, bought a little piece of plastic that she uses to put two inexpensive ones together and it works just fine. If it's a one time deal, that might be a cheaper way to go.
MommyToAshley replied: You just reminded me of something. I have seen those little steps that attach to the back of the stroller that older toddlers can stand/ride on. I know Ashley won't hardly sit in a stroller these days... so that might be another option. Just a thought.
coasterqueen replied: I think One Step Ahead has a connector piece you can do that with, but not sure how well it maneuver's around.
And like Dee Dee said, most people don't like the side by side ones because they don't go into a lot of mall type stores. For me that's a blessing, means I won't be spending money there. My girls really like being side by side. Megan and Kylie transfer toys back and forth and giggle at each other.
But if I had the extra money I would have gotten the sit and stand double stroller, I think there are a few on here who have that one. I just didn't have the moola for that one.
C&K*s Mommie replied: We had one of the Jeep double strollers-- hated it! It would not fit down aisles of stores, (I learned quickly because we went into only two stores at the mall) It fit through doorways (like at a mall ok) We found a smaller version at Burlington Kids, in Tallahassee (and on the website) but we never got it. Just my
BAC'sMom replied: I have one with the step on the back, the child can sit or stand it's by Baby Trend. I got it @ Bulington Coat factory about 4 years ago. I think Target is carrying that brand now. I love mine!
fashionmumofboys replied: I have the one that is front to back it's made by Jeep. Personally, I find the side by side ones to wide when you are going through doorways.
Good luck.
jem0622 replied: I would only recommend the Maclaren SBS if you go with a SBS. It is narrow enough for doorways.
I loved the Graco DuoGlider for the boys. I have a Peg Triple now in case Gabe needs to sit.
I think the Bunky Board on back of a single would be a good solution for you since you wouldn't always need a double. KWIM?
ilovemybaby replied: Yep the ones they make where the baby is in the back are great... but can you use those for two toddlers? I want to get one because double strollers won't fit through the checkouts at the supermarket. I don't know what we will do. I can just buy two cheaper ones and fit them together with this piece of plastic like someone mentioned. I've seen other people do it and they seem to manouver (sp?) around just fine.
coasterqueen replied: Yours doesn't fit down the supermarket lanes? They must not be handicap accessible.
The double ones might fit two toddlers, you would have to look at the weight requirements. I think all the ones I've seen are around 35 to 40 pounds per seat. I know Kylie is already close to the limit.
kit_kats_mom replied: Amy, I just bought a graco duoglide at our local consignment shop to use at busch gardens. Check your consignment shops because I got mine for $43 and it's in good shape. I did have to go online to order the manual but hey, for about $100 savings? Totally worth it.
ilovemybaby replied: No they don't seem to... I used to work at the local supermarket and we always had to get the mothers with double strollers to use checkout 1. That is the only checkout they fit through. I don't know how they fit through the doors...

i bought a sit and stand deluxe and absolutely LOVE it as do both kids..i would highly recommend it...
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm looking for one myself! I thought I would want the kind that is front and back, but once I actually tried Wil in them, I didn't like it. The seats for the toddler seemed already too tight for him. And I just can't see Wil wanting to stand on the back the whole time or sit on just a stool with the Sit n Stand. Someone told me that the front and back kind are often harder to fold too.
Lisa and I were at the mall a couple weeks back and a woman at the play area had the Maclaren double umbrella stroller (not sure what model) and she said she LOVES it and had tried several kind. They are on the high end for price, but she says it's the easiest to fold, which is what I would want at the airport. I got on Ebay the other day and found a lot of the Maclaren, so maybe look there!
amynicole21 replied: I would love a Maclaran, though I'm looking for the cheapest thing to just get through this one trip. Sophia won't be in a stroller much longer - she'll barely sit in it now! The one I found at Target (pictured in first post) is only $55, so it'll do!
coasterqueen replied: Amy,
Kylie would NEVER, I mean NEVER sit in a stroller until I got the double stroller and now she loves it. I don't strap her in because she'll get in and out, but she loves she can sit with sissy and see her, etc. So hopefully Sophia will do well in it too.
