Neat idea for pictures - wish I had done this!
MommyToAshley wrote: I have tons of pictures of Ashley at different ages but I read a neat idea and I wish I had done it.
Here's the idea: Pick a seat or any setting, and take their picture each month in the same position in the same seat (or setting) and then you can easily compare how much they have grown.
I thought that was such a neat idea.
MomToMany replied: That is neat! I wishI would've done that with all the kids....
amynicole21 replied: My mom did this with my sister and my first day of school pics. It didn't start until 1st grade, but it was still neat to see how big we'd grown every year until we graduated
kit_kats_mom replied: I did it for K's first year kind of. We took a picture of her in "poppy's" chair when we would go to my mom's for Sunday dinners.
I had heard of one lady who bought an ugly pucci print type dress in purple from the goodwill. She took her daughters picture in that dress, on her birthday every year.
That's the kind of thing that I would have to put on my calendar to remind myself about.
MommyToAshley replied: That would be neat to do for 1st day of school pictures! Thanks for the idea. I will have to use the same seat or something because I don't think we will stay in this house for 18 more years.
paradisemommy replied: well i didn't do that but what i did was - i have a TON of pictures of taven and i did it for 2 years, 1 for his first year, and the other for his second. i put in the middle of the picture his stats: height and weight and then i picked a picture as close i could to his birthday each month and posted them all around in a circle - first 6 months on top and the last 6 months on the bottom - it's really fun to see how much he's changed (kinda like a year in review!!)
DansMom replied: I took pictures of Daniel on the 25th of every month for his first year (and lots more in between!), but I didn't think to take them in the same spot! I've been terrible about photos in the second half of this year. DH and I feel ashamed of how few photos we've taken lately---although we've got lots of video!
amynicole21 replied: We're the exact opposite! Tons of pictures (digitals - got to print some out!) but no video! I have so much video of her just laying there at 2 months old, but nothing of her singing or learning new words I really have to get better about that.
MommyToAshley replied: Same here, I have tons of video from her first year, but her second year is mostly pictures and occasional videos. I really need to take more video of her!
coasterqueen replied: I'm even worse. I have maybe two tapes (videos) of Kylie from her 1st year of life and nothing since.
But I have TONS of pictures.
kit_kats_mom replied: I'm telling you guys....next digitial camera you get, make sure it takes videos. I've found that I take more videos now that it's so convenient. Granted, the videos aren't a crisp as the ones I take with the video cam but you still get the idea and it's still pretty cute! If I had to go get the video camera, I'd hardly have any videos but we keep the digital cam around all the time.
amynicole21 replied: Mine DOES take video, I just forget to use it. Plus, it's kind of a pain to download the videos onto the computer and they take up so much space I usually end up deleting them
coasterqueen replied: Mine takes videos too. I just forget to use it.
Kaitlin'smom replied: that is fun, I did a slid show of kaitlins first year, it was great everyone loved it, I plan on doing one every year, I take tons of digital pics, but we dont have hardly any video....that was DH department he bought the camera to do both but when I hated the quality of the pics he got me a digital camera. I am not even sure where the video camera is or if we have tapes for it
raysnroof replied: We did this with our first. We also put the same favorite toy beside him as well as a large marshmallow with a birthday candle it in for every month. The picture of him sitting with 12 marshmallows was very hard to take because he had figured out that he could eat them before mommy took the picture. I only wish we could have had a video of me trying to take the stills! Sharon in KS Jill of all trades Master of none Mom of many Wife of one
Vikki replied: Great idea. I have been taking pics of my son in one of his daddy's shirts every year. He is only 2 1/2 and I make sure to do it around his birthday...but...in the 2 times I have done it so far, there is a HUGE difference. I plan to do the same with my younger son (he is 7 months)...in a different shirt. And when they grow up, they will have all of the pics AND the shirt.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I've heard of that before, only it was with a stuffed toy. Like one of those giant bears or something. That's a really good idea!
Heather replied: I wish I had too. I wanted to start with Holly, but LOL, have yet to do it.
annafrombc replied: Ive seen that done and thought the same thing......too late for me now that Evan is 7 months old but I wish I knew about it before.
loveydad replied: I've got freinds that have done that. I wish I did!
