Nanny 911...OMG!

mummy2girls wrote: did you watch tonights show! OMG OMG OMG. i have only been watching the first 15 minutes and im appalled with the dads behavior. letting the kids drive go carts without helmets, going on the 3 wheeler with no helmets, dragging the kids down the stairs, and his theory if your not bleeding get back on! OMG! this guy unfortunelty needs one of his kids hurt fot reality to hit him that he is being a butt!!!!!!!!!!

MM'sMama replied: I missed it Brice got a paper cut and was acting as though it was a national disaster wacko.gif. But OMG that sounds aweful I don't get parents like that. The pople next to us are the same way. I know one of these dayds one of them is going to really get hurt and it scared the heck out of me bawling.gif

ammommy replied: I just sat there shaking my head the entire time. WTH was he thinking? Did you see that he had the 1yo in his lap on that thing? I loved riding wheelers as a kid, but 1) I was at least 13 and 2) we never zoomed that fast. Scary...
Shame on mom for not having a backbone, either. I hope that they really have changed their ways.

Jamielou replied: I WAS WATCHING THAT LAST NIGHT ALL I COULD SAY WAS WHAT A MORON HE IS AN IDIOT AND SHE SHOULD STAND UP TO ALL OF THEM... THE LITTLE GIRL CALLED HER AN IDIOT AND SHE DIDNT SAY A WORD. AND WHAT WAS THE DEAL WITH THE HAT CURL dunno.gif

luvbug00 replied: I missed it, but I'm glad I did after reading Shelly's post I would've been on the edge of my seat and trying to reach threw and screaming at the tv to protect the kids!!

coasterqueen replied: I didn't see it but my co-worker was telling me about it. The way she described it (she was appalled) it sounded just like rough housing to me, but like I said I didn't see it.

As far as the helmets on 4-wheelers - well I can't say anything because none of us, including Kylie wear them when riding them. blush.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: missed it
Sounds like a good thing that i did

ammommy replied: Karen, it was a bit more than rough-housing. First of all, they had a 1yo and none of the outlets were covered, no gates on the steps, and there were open banisters. With a total of 5 kids to watch out for, mom couldn't keep a close eye on the baby around all of that.
Dad would take the older girls down the steps on a blanket, but would also include the 1 yo and the 3 or 4yo (?). When they fell and hurt themselves, his rule of thumb was "no blood, no injury." One of the girls was on a small go kart in the middle of the street (slow street, no traffic), and ran into their truck. One of the middle girls built a fire unsupervised (she was maybe 8) and while mom said that's not safe, dad said "good job, you did that just right."
By the end of the show, Dad realized that they could still have as much fun, they just had to use a bit of common sense about safety issues like only one person on the 3 wheeler with dad at a time and no trying to knock your sister out of the cherry tree into the truck.

party-of-six replied: I lost a classmate when I was a kid to falling off his bike and hitting his head on the curb. He died before anyone could get to him.

My own two year olds know they are to wear a 'hat' when on a bike, and their 5 year old brother does also.

I cannot imagine my kids getting on such a dangerous piece of equipment without the proper safety equipment.

Jamielou replied: Well we ride 4-wheelers all the time almost daily for my 9 year old and she doesnt wear a helmet but she is not aloud to go past 2nd gear and its all flat land that we ride on.. and the main thing i saw with the safety issues were the railings and the little girl building a fire. But he was calling his wife a geek in front of the kids and undermining her real bad and even said he loved to push her buttons and would get the girls to do things she didnt like just to upset her. I could not live with that man.... dry.gif

coasterqueen replied:
THanks. LIke I said I didn't watch it and the way my co-worker made it sound not as bad wink.gif.

Insanemomof3 replied: I didn't see it. I have never had much for child saftey devices, my kids have just learned to leave things alone. They get into things, but know not to touch things that hurt them.

Sad about the fire. A kid should not ever build a fire unsupervised. That is just dumb. And WTH is the dad pushing the mom's buttons and calling her a geek for? He married her so obviously loved her, what happened? Sad sad sad.

kimberley replied: i saw parts of it. the guy was a total moron! i really think there should be a test for parents to take their kids home. and men like him should be retested every year dry.gif

My2Beauties replied: I didn't see it. We don't make Desiree wear a helmet on the 4-wheeler blush.gif but she doesn't drive it herself, she is on the back with us and we only take her on flat land! We take Hanna on it too, she sits in front of Brian but he goes really slow with her on there and it's only flat land! Flat land isn't bad on 4-wheelers but you just have to be careful when you're going fast on flat land or when you're in the woods. You have to know the land you're riding. We only go on them when we go down to the country to visit Brian's cousins. Now p ulling the kids down the steps on the blanket wasn't that bad to me, the no hand rails thing was bad, and he shouldn't include the 1 yo on the blanket neither but - that's a man for ya rolleyes.gif

3xsthefun replied: I didn't see it either.

I have to say though Rob takes the girls on his 4-wheeler & 3-wheeler without a helmet. blush.gif But he always goes slow with them.

I think some of the things the guy was doing by sound of it was very wrong though.
