NEW WORD!
MommyToAshley wrote: First of all, I want to say sorry I haven't been around much... I have spent my spare time with Ashley. I have tried to keep up with reading everything but I haven't posted much. Right now Ashley is playing by herself and having a good time so I didn't want to bother her.
But, I had to come here and share her new word with you. Ashley has a set of First Words flash cards. She used to hand the cards to me and I would say what was on the card. Well, today, she handed me the dog card and said "dog", then she handed me the card with the picture of a clock and said clock but without the letter "l" I hope we don't go too many places with clocks hanging on the wall!!

hmmmm....must get on it!
DansMom replied: That's hilarious!!
MommyToAshley replied: We bought them at the Dollar Store. However, I think I saw them at Toys R Us (but they were more expensive).
MommyToAshley replied: Yeah, she loves the cards. Most of the time, she carries them around, bends them or drops them in her toy box. I don't push her to learn the words, but when she gives me the cards, I will point to the picture and say what it is.
Something funny happened after I posted this msg. It was time for Ashley's nap, and I am trying to teach her to pick up her toys (in this case, the cards). I told her to pick up her cards. She gave me a few and then she stopped giving them to me, so I said "Please hand me those".... she looked at me for a minute and then pointed to her "hand". Normally I say "Please pick them up" or "Please give them to Mommy"... I guess she had never heard the term "hand me something".
Mommieto2Girls replied: hahaha, that's so cute.... lol
DansMom replied: I think you've got a really smart kid there! She's already questioning your semantics.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: ROTFL!! She is soooo smart. And yes, she will be talking your ears off before you know it. Me and DH were just saying "Remember when we wanted her to talk?" She talks NON-STOP, but it is fun!!
I just have to share this story: I hope I don't offend anyone.
Last Halloween me and Maddie went to the fabric store and she was talking a lot at the time, but still couldn't get some words down. They had this HUGE blow up Witch when you first walked in the store and Maddie said "What's that?!" So I told her. She didn't say anything else for a long time. Then she got this puzzled look on her face and said "Momma is that a bitch?" It wasn't real loud and I just looked at her and said "W-Witch, Maddie" and motioned for her to shhhh! She kept asking "Is that a bitch?" and she kept getting louder and louder. By this time I am soooo RED and laughing my head off. I know that didn't help matters, but finally she dropped it.

MommyToAshley replied: Maddiesma... LOL, what I have to look forward too!
Maddie&EthansMom replied:
LOL! True! Just wait!
I'm glad you weren't offended....I started not to post it.
MommyToAshley replied: I didn't even think about that when I read your post... I guess because you were quoting your DD. I don't think anyone would be offended by you telling that story.
