N. Korea did a nuclear test!
MommyToAshley wrote: The reports are just coming across the news now. At first they thought it was a hoax, but geological surveys are showing activity. Scary scary stuff going on right now! They still won't confirm 100% that the test was done, but it sure is looking that way.
Crystalina replied: I just turned to MSNBC. I haven't heard the whole story yet but I'm definatley going to watch.
luvmykids replied: I saw a brief little bit about it, I'm waiting to hear more. Not great news.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: They did test That is all they are saying now-BUT it is a scary situation! My cousin is in the Navy on a intelligence gathering ship and they have been watching N. Korea for years...he said that the leader over there is a bigger than we have seen in many years...This scares me but at the same time I hope the powers that be put a FAST squash on any futher plans!
luvmykids replied: This might be a dumb question but in reading up on this I got curious .... I was reading about our missle interception program (the one that only works 50% of the time ) so my question is this ... Even if we were to intercept one and blow it up over the ocean, wouldn't there still be repurcussions of all the nuclear crap landing in the ocean? Wouldn't it still have an impact?
Nina J replied: It's is very scary, N. Korea has the potential to harm so many people. I'm hoping the governments of the countries can sort everything out. But didn't a US government man say that they would take action if N. Korea tested nuclear weapons?
amynicole21 replied: Yea. We made a line in the sand and said that N. Korea could either have their nuclear test, or have a future. That was a REALLY stupid thing to do, because now we are basically forced to take action. Not that we wouldn't have done something anyway, but we can't back down and be seen as a country that makes idle threats.
mom2my2cuties replied: I honestly hope we do something about North Korea. Them having Nuclear capabilities is NOT a good thing.
BAC'sMom replied: It’s a scary world these days!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: ITA with you there too...
My2Beauties replied: Wait a sec, I thought I had just heard last night on the news that N. Korea stated they would not test their weapons as they came to an agreement with Japan or something like that.
Kaitlin'smom replied: wow I missed all this...was not home much yesterday.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: The leaders of China and Japan met yesterday to discuss the threat that N. Korea poses. I think that N. Korea's leader does this stuff to say Nah nah to the rest of the world...Yesterday was also the anniversary of the date that Kim Jong Il rose to power nine years ago. I believe this man is a bigger threat than most realize The scariest part is that his son is supposed to be even than he is!
mom2my2cuties replied: From what I have understood, Kim Jong-Il is going to continue to do this stuff like this because he has threatened it, done things like this in the past, in order to get sanctions lifted, more aid, more money stuff like that. And honestly he sounds more like my overly spoiled 2 year old that a leader most days.
gr33n3y3z replied: I'm more scared for other countries not us bc we still have ours even tho they say we dont.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I worry for the S. Korea moreso than for our safety, as Lisa mentioned. I still am concerned for the US and our neighbors, but the immediate danger lies with S. Korea, China & Japan. I also am concerned for the safety of our 29,000 troops that line the border between the South and the North.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: ITA Nicole! I think 29,000 troops on our borders would be a better station for them!
C&K*s Mommie replied:
Save for the day when that actually happens, but I in turn agree 1000% with you Abbie.
ashtonsmama replied: Scary stuff!
holley79 replied: ITA Nicole.
I, too, wish our troops were on our borders instead of there.
lisar replied: Keep me posted I am at work and cant see none of that stuff.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Now that is a SCARY thought!!!!! A 2 year old with a nuke.....
TheOaf66 replied: I would personally be happy if Japan and China stepped in and dealt with this personally so we didn't have to put effort into that too. We are all tied up in the middle east right now and since they are right there they could handle it and take some of the pressure off us for once.
