My solo practice

~CrazieMama~ wrote: Last night i practiced my solo at church. I didn't do as good as I was hoping for. I really need to practice at the church cause I have a hard time getting up there in front of even 2 people. Very intimidating. But I having this burden to do it, so up to sing I will do. Everyone that was there, there was alot...lol...said I did good, but I just was not loud enough. So now I am working on being louder and singing with power. Just thought I would update you all on my singing...I am singing in front of the church on Feb. 29th at 7p.m. or so.

jen replied: Good Luck!! I admire you for being able to do that!!! My weakness is public speaking, much less singing!!!! That is soooooooooo great!!! I am jealous! smile.gif

booey2 replied: Way to go, I have a hard enough time speaking in front of people. By the way great siggy. thumb.gif

~CrazieMama~ replied: Thanks you guys...I have a very hard time being the center of attention....So me singing in front of the church that is relatively full on the nights that we sing...is very hard to do. But I know the Lord gives me the strength and courage to get up there and sing without passing out from the shock....lol

jen replied: That is so wonderful! I think the biggest public speaking I have done is telling people how to sew on a button in one of my college public speaking classes! ha ha! I love to sing! But I get in front of people and I sound like a scared mouse!!!

DansMom replied: I think it takes a lot of courage and confidence to dare to get up in front of people to sing. I could never do it. My DH is a musician and he always says that practice is the most important key to improving your abilities, but also important is learning to accept the mistakes you make in performance but not to focus on them---keep moving along and try to work on what went wrong the next time you practice. It's wonderful what you are doing! He thinks it helps to tape or video your performance so that you can see for yourself things you want to change (posture, loudness, phrasing or whatever). For me, that would make me even more self-conscious to have it on record LOL! Let us know how the next performance goes!

~CrazieMama~ replied: Well, I have the last performance on tape. The duet. I plan on getting this one as well on tape. I know I have to sing louder and have power in my voice. I have been told all my life that being loud was not acceptable, now I have to be loud and I have a very hard time doing it. I would love to make copies of the tape, but my mom does the taping and it looks awful....lol But we will see......Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

Kaitlin'smom replied: good for you, I dont mind talking in pubilc but singing NOOO way (see I know I cant sing so I would never do it).

break a leg....as we say at the theatre!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: thumb.gif Good For You! That takes a lot of courage to get up in front of a crowd and sing! You should give yourself a pat on the back! thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied: Way to go! I bet you sounded just beautiful too smile.gif Keep working on it and before long the whole world will hear your beautiful voice wink.gif Good luck on the next one.

~CrazieMama~ replied: Thanks everyone!!!! Tonight, in about 30 mins, I am going to a friends' house to practice my song there. I didn't do my best at church and want to show her that I do good at home....lol

MommyToAshley replied: WOw! That's awesome... I would never have the courage to sing in public. Heck, I don't think DH heard me sing until Ashley was born. (But, I am pretty pathetic, I can't even humm in tune) Now he has to put up with me singing to her all the time. rolling_smile.gif

But, good for you! I bet you are going to be awesome! Let us know how it goes.

~CrazieMama~ replied: Well, I am back...My friend says I sound good and that I don't need to practice anymore. That is great!!!! Now I just have to work on being used to being the center of attention. rolling_smile.gif

Guest_alyssa'smommy replied: lol i know what you mean!!! I use to sing ALLL the time at my church but i dont go anymore and i hate my voice now..heres a funny story
