My sitter likes us a lot!
kit_kats_mom wrote: I think I posted last week that K had started whining a bit when I dropped her off in the mornings which is so unlike her. We've never had seperation issues....ever.
This morning she started whining before we even left the house and by the time we got in the car she cried the whole way. Not a tantrum, just steady little tears and whimpers which are much more pitiful in my book.
I asked her why she suddenly didn't like Miss Candices' house and she never really gave me an answer. I suspect that she doesn't like the two sisters that started two weeks ago. One is 4 and one is 2 but they are BIG girls and I fear that they may be ganging up on her. I know Candice keeps an eye on them though and punishes errant behavior. I'm not too worried but I wish she was ejoying daycare as much as she used too. It just makes it harder to leave her when I know she doesn't want to be there. KWIM?
Anywhoo. I mentioned it to Candice and she said that Katherine is her favorite. She'd never say that in front of the kids but she is. That made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
She also said that they had gone shopping this weekend for their DD and bought some bedroom furniture and she wanted to know if I wanted the toddler bed. DH and I just went and bought a new dresser and toybox for her room this weekend so yeah! I'll take it. I offered to pay for it and she wouldn't have any of it. That's awesome!! My little bunny is getting a brand new bedroom today!
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww thats great, I KWYM about the tears when they dont want you to leave, it breaks my heart, I am glad Kaitlin has not done that in a long while
DansMom replied: Great news on the toddler bed! I hope Katherine will adjust to the new kids in time.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Awwww! That is so hard to leave them when they cry like that. You are lucky to have found such a great sitter. I wish I had someone like that.
How cool that she just gave you that bed, too!
Boys r us replied: Wow!! that's very generous of her!! I bet K will LOVE her new bed!
I know what you mean about that warm and fuzzy thing...my sitter has also descretely mentioned to me that B is her fave!!!
amynicole21 replied: It's so great to know that you're leaving your child with someone who really, truly cares about her well-being
coasterqueen replied: Wow that's awesome that she just gave you the bed. More importantly it's great that she has such a bond with K and that you can trust her to take care of her.
Kylie goes through those little fits where she doesn't want me to leave in the morning too. This morning she held my hand tight, with her head hung low and kept saying "wait mommy, wait"...which is her way of telling me to stay, don't go. Her sitter is usually good about getting her to do something so she doesn't get too upset about my leaving.
Josie83 replied: That's great, what a nice thing to say! Could Katherine's issues have anything to do with the baby? Just a thought. I know Cassie sometimes gets a bit upset if we leave her even with my sisters if she's getting poorly or she's tired . . maybe she's one of those things? I hope moving into th enew bedroom goes well! xx
kimberley replied: wow! how nice is that? you have a great sitter!
My2Beauties replied: KWYM about the tears, it breaks my heart when Hanna cries when I am leaving!
What a cool thing for your sitter to do, that is awesome she just gave you guys that bed
jcc64 replied: Cary, my oldest used to cry and whimper and the like all the way up through preschool. I can still remember the nauseous feeling I had when I could hear his screaming through the parking lot at preschool. It was awful, it really was. The teachers/sitters always reassured me that he quickly settled down after I was gone, and now that he is a fiercely independent 12 yr old, I actually feel a little wistful recalling those times when he needed me so much. I suspect it is an adjustment to the new little girls. They're probably tag teaming K, and she probably feels a little insecure. Ask the sitter to keep a closer eye on their interactions for the time being. But try not to assign too much importance to it at this point. (Easier said than done, I know)
ediep replied: cool, a new bed.....what a great sitter!!!
I hope K adjust to the new kids at her daycare soon.
