My poor girl... - TMI possible.

Insanemomof3 wrote: My little girl has become a woman. biggrin.gif She is only 10, but started her period last Thursday. wub.gif She is getting so big, and I am getting old. bawling.gif I started when I was 10, so she is following in my footsteps, the poor thing. She is doing ok, but we had to have some of "the talk". Hehe, I was not prepared for that. blush.gif

luvmykids replied: Oh boy, congrats and I'm sorry?! lol
My stepd is at that age, we're all on pins and needles. We've all done a lot of talking, so she won't be shocked, but I think we will be anyway!

moped replied: Ahhh that is so young....................

kimberley replied: aww poor girl. i remember how horrified i was and everyone made a HUGE deal about it sad.gif great big hugs to her! hug.gif hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: Wow, that does seem so young now that I'm all grown up! I started when I was 12 and it didn't seem so bad... Makes ME feel old, too! tongue.gif

amymom replied: oh boy, I am not looking forward to this. My dd is 9. I started really late, but my sister started about 11 or 12, I'll have to ask her. My DH has only brothers so no info there.

Was there any warning for you / her? What I mean is .... I am expecting other changes first, like hair and breast enlargement etc. But I hear that is not necessarily so.

kayla's mama replied: Oh wow, thats early. Congrats on one hand and sorry that your baby girl is growing up.

Insanemomof3 replied:
There was no warning really that I know of. I asked her dad if she was emotional lately, but she is very sensitive anyway, so no more than normal. She already has boobs too, so that was not a sign.

She called me Thursday night and here is our conversation (part of it.)

Her: Mommy? Have you ever found blood in your underwear?
Me: (Laughing a bit) Yes of course honey...I am a woman (Dense pause and realization) Why? HAVE YOU?
Her: Yes. This morning.
Me: How much?
Her: Just a little, maybe just a scratch.
Me: Have you told your dad?
Her: NO! I wanted you! You are my mom. wub.gif
(I explained a bit on how to change pads etc...)
Me: Let me talk to your dad. LOL

It was interesting to say the least. She really needs me. wub.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: I was 9 when I stared my AF. I thought I was dying, I didn't know why I was bleeding! I hadn't watched the "video" on puberty yet, and was scared! emlaugh.gif

I still remember the talk I had with my Mom after my period. She was really supportive, and actually showed me how to put a maxi pad on. blush.gif

I can imagine how hard that is for a mother to realize your baby girl is becoming a woman. Good thing she has a supportive Mama like you!

mom89 replied: Awww
my dd(12)started hers last month ohmy.gif Needless to say,I was not ready for that.

Edward's Mommy replied: I was 10 when I got my first too, and both my parents cried about it! blush.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: hug.gif It's so hard for them when they are so young. My daughter started at the age of 9, just before School started. I remember talking to her just after her 9th birthday about puberty. But she has handled it really well and we got a referal to a female pediatrician. She sees her every 9 months.

1lilpeanut2love replied: WOW that is young! She is grown up now!! I didn't start mine until I was 14 and in the 8th grade! I was worried that I would never get it!!

jacobsmama replied: hug.gif to her. Lucky her to have someone like you to support her right now. wub.gif
