My neighborhood stinks! - Literally!

I grew up in the country but there was a pig farm accross the field from us so every time the wind blew from the south we had to close all the windows and bring in the clothes off the line.

CantWait replied: Iewwwwwwwwwww, that's pretty nasty. I'm with ya there though. Although we live in the city, we're only minutes from a farm, so there's some days when you wake up and all ya smell is manuer (sp?)

kimberley replied: yuck! that bites! i looked at a really big rental house going wayyyyyyyyy below normal rent *but* it was literally next door to the city sewage plant. i've driven by since during the summer and OMG it was horrifying! i am so glad i didn't go for it.

We live in the country so we smell alot of poo too-just not of the human variety Btw-off subject but I noticed in your other post that you live in New Jersey,My grandpa was raised there and I still have family in that area. They own some large service stations.... Just thought it was a funny ka-winke-dink.

We have to drive through well past one here off the parkway and it is nasty

I live in the city too and we have some not so nice smells some nights because we live a couple blocks from a slaughter house, Brian's dad actually works there where they kill the cows and pigs It stinks so bad some nights! I'm with ya hon - when we buy a house it's going to be in the suburbs or closer to the country with some land! Sorry it smells stinky!

That is one reason why I live in the country. We don't live near any big farms, so we don't smell them kind of smells either.

Stinks just as mnuch around here I bet. Especially after it rains.....

same here. I love the smell of the country and wouldn't trade it for anything. I think I'd take even a whiff of cow or pig poo on occassion than the city smells. Course we never have to smell any of that, though. BUT sometimes when it rains a LOT LOT you can smell the neighbors septic, but that's rare.
