Sawyer is finally doing half way decent. I started him on rice cereal about 3 weeks ago, and he's much happier. However, he requires A TON of attention (much more then Laiken ever did). If he's awake (most of the day) he wants someone to play with him, or hold him. He's not happy very long playing alone. But I'll take it... he's breastfeeding MUCH MUCH better now as well. He doesn't give me any trouble anymore (unlike before where he'd cry/scream constantly).

On the other hand... Laiken is miserable now. WHEN WILL IT EVER END??? She wakes up crying... she goes to bed crying. She was fairly easy before the damn surgery. I'm about ready to pull my hair out (FOR REAL). She's been on so many meds the past week for various reasons it's not even funny. Let's see... liquid vicodin for pain, lactulose for constipation, amoxicillin for preventative measures, phenergen suppositories for nausea, tylenol off and on (trying to ease off the vicodin because of the constipation but it doesn't seem to be working), and NOW nystatin for thrush. UGH why me? LOL

Also... she's only drinking w/ FORCE. We go thru a screaming fit about every hour to get her to drink. I put food out for her to eat (jello/watermelon/pancakes etc...) and she'll only take one bite and say her belly/throat/mouth hurts. Oh yeah... and she's got a BIG (lima bean size) sore on her tongue from the clamp they put in her mouth during surgery. The dr said it's probably from that and it squished her tongue up against her teeth and put a big ol hole in it POOR KID UGH.

I feel terrible... I never come here to post GOOD news... and overall (before now) my life has been pretty decent... really it has... I just don't feel the need to post all the good things cuz I don't like to brag I guess LOL but I need a little support and a few hugs... and maybe even a few GET BETTER LAIKEN VIBES. I really didn't think it would be THIS long of a recovery. Honestly... she's no better now then she was a week ago (the way she seems to feel anyways).

So there's my long winded update... thanks for reading if you've made it this far... now you know why I haven't been here posting away!

I am sorry Laiken is still feeling bad. What do the docs say?
I bet that sore on her tongue hurts.... that may be why she isn't eating too. Poor kid! I hope she is feeling better soon!

You really need a break! Is there anyone who can come and help you out? Even an hour away would do you a world of good! Even though you're nursing Sawyer, you can still have a break. Just take one after he had a "full meal"; it's really worth it to get out and away from all your troubles. You need to "recharge" yourself! You're NOT a bad mommy for wanting a break! Everyone needs one at some point.

I'm not sure what else to say to help you out. I'm SO sorry you are having such an awful time.

You sound like you really need it and then taking a break will make it so much easier to deal with I would think. You need ot step out for a while. Try to have someone come over...even if it's for just 30 minutes. A walk will do you wonders!

I sure hope Laiken gets better soon...and I'm glad to see that Sawyer is eating better. Maybe look at the hammock Shnoogly was raving about? Maybe that will help Sawyer....

Maybe a trip to the park or mall or SOMEWHERE for all of you (if you can't get someone to come and help) would help you all out too??? I know how miserable *I* am if I have to be cooped up all the time, and maybe she is just going thru that too? (on top of everything else) And if she could get out and get done with whatever, then she would start to feel a little better, too (or at least have a better attitude about it?)
