My hair is falling out!

GavinsMommy wrote: I can run my hands through it and end up with a hand of hair! LOL...not really, but a few strands or so. My hair is everywhere! DH brought home food the other day and we found one of mine in his burger. EWWW! How did THAT happen? LMBO. laugh.gif And it was mine, believe me!

Is this from nursing or something? My mom's hair falls out like this.

Lollie replied: Hi Lauren...

Mmmmm..I have heard of a woman's hair falling out during pregnancy or nursing..so dont worry.. wink.gif

Hey..I can always ask Caitlyn to borrow you some hair if you want.... rolling_smile.gif

GavinsMommy replied: OMGosh yes, do that! She has SO much!!! Gavin had a fair amount when he was born. It has thinned out a lot sad.gif Sad sad.gif I'm not sure if it fell out or not. I took a comb with some pressure to his head when he had cradle cap and some hair would come out when I did that, so maybe it fell out then. Or it could have just fallen out....or maybe his head outgrew his hair rolling_smile.gif

I think I have heard of that also. smile.gif

GavinsMommy replied: i'm going to bed now, night lollie! my little man is awake wub.gif

Lollie replied: Hehehehehe..Lauren you so funny!! rolling_smile.gif

Okay deal..Caitlyn has offered to give you some hair in exchnage for a hug from Gavin..lol tongue.gif

When Bri was younger she was born with a little hair but then her hair started thinning ...so maybe its not really the cradle cap Gavin had...as you said,it could be that they outgrew their hair!!! biggrin.gif

Goodnight and have get some rest! Its 8:30 am here...so my day has begun!!!! rolleyes.gif

~HUGS~

Kirstenmumof3 replied: thumb.gif This is perfectly normal, I lost so much hair after Claudia was born.

Isabelita replied: This happened to me too! I remember being distraught and upset by it bawling.gif It used to come out in great clumps. I'm surprised I had any hair left!

She's 2-1/2 now, and my hair doesn't fall out nearly as much, so don't worry, it will stop eventually!

moped replied: Oh yes...................you wouldn't beleive how much I lost - jsut now it is starting to come back thick again - it was thinning out pretty good.....clumps of hair in the house.

~KARA~ replied:

I still have that. I had bald spots after my youngest dd was born, but it ws caused by depression!

I always heard if you wear your hair up in pony tails, or barretts that it will fall out from being broken, I guess i should stop wearing pony tails.

Kristigirl replied: Yes, it's normal. I'm losing some hair too. My hair gets sooo thick and nice during my pregnancies I can barely put it up in a ponytail but then it starts falling out soon after they're born. Ah, what our bodies go through to have children!! wacko.gif

PascosGirl replied: Do you realize that you lose about 100 hairs per day? Also blow drying, styling and brushing causes you to lose more hair. I think it is normal. I have to clean my bathroom all the time because hair gets everywhere.

Mommy2BAK replied: Well, Blakely will be 9 months old in a few days and my hair still falls out soooo much! rolleyes.gif

texasp3 replied: There's a standing joke in our house that I shed like a dog. Honestly - the ONLY time my hair doesn't just come out by the handfuls is when I'm pregnant. The rest of the time (and there's been a LOT of that time) I just shed CONSTANTLY. I keep my hair short because at the rate it falls out, long hair actually clogs up the shower drain DAILY and causes all kinds of other housekeeping issues.

Geez, I remember a good 10 years ago, my friends had a running thing about saying that they knew the food I served was home-cooked because they ALWAYS found at least one of my hairs.

When it's really bad, I'll wake up in the morning and my pillow will be COVERED in hair. I don't know why I'm not just BALD. wacko.gif

bwalkerletters replied: I've seen some commercials for some women's Rogaine! smile.gif (just kidding!!!) tongue.gif I remember my ex experiencing the same thing with both girls.........

A&A'smommy replied: that is SOOO normal my hair use to fall out a little bit before pregnancy and then it NEVER did my entire pregnancy I had great hair lol and then right around the time that you did I started loosing my hair a lot its normal wink.gif

ProudAunty replied: My hair falls out all the time, and I havent even been prego. My hair is almost down to my bum. And we find hair all over the house.

taylor&zachsmom replied: Mine did the same thing after each kid. I would lose handfulls too. If I ran my fingers through my hair it would come out in clumps.

In fact....... when I went to go to a new stylist a few months back she asked "What did your last stylist do to your hair?" I was starting to grow back the hair by my bangs and it was shorter than my other bangs.. So it looked like some one butcherd my hair..

Give it time.. And good luck..

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Your hair falling out is so normal. My started to about 4 months after Jade. We take those prenatals all through pregnancy which makes the hair grow. Plus all of the hairs that are scheduled to fall out don't. Yeah it freaked me out, but I was told that it was normal.

0-10andbackagain replied: Mine did that while nursing.*sigh* rolleyes.gif

TeagansMom609 replied: My hair starting falling out ALOT when Teagan was about 3 months old, which is also the time I went back to work and wasn't nursing her as much. I asked my OB why it was happening and the first question she asked me was did I stop nursing or cut down at all. Well I was at work 8 hours out of the day and obviously wasn't nursing her during those hours. So that's the answer I got! So now all of the hair I lost is growing back and I have all of these 3 inch hairs sticking up on the top of my head and it looks so funny. tongue.gif

GavinsMommy replied:
I never took my vitamins. I probably took 20 total. I took some in the very beginning and then once in a blue moon after that. But I didn't really take them. unsure.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
I took mine in the begining then I forgot to take them most of the time after I got married wink.gif baby.gif
