My good deed for the day - What's yours?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: So what was your good deed for the day? What little something (or big) did you do that made you feel like "ahhh, that was a nice thing to do"? biggrin.gif

Why I ask is because I was on my way to a meeting this morning, rushing out the door with kids in the car, and I drove by two stray dogs. They kept running back and forth across a busy street and no one slowed or stopped. So I stopped, called them over, read their tags and tried calling their home. Not getting an answer after several calls, I contacted the Humane's Society and was asked to take them to my house and leave them in my backyard. I have a station wagon. I was super late for my meeting, but I just couldn't leave them there! So I had to leave a note on the door giving Animal Control permission to go in my backyard and pick them up. The owner finally called me later this afternoon (guess my number was left on caller ID) and I told her what happened. She was very appreciative, although I guess it's $75 for each dog picked up at the HS! Not my fault she didn't answer her phone.

Tomorrow my good deed will be going back to the park and contacting the teen babysitter! thumb.gif Although I don't really think good deeds should be "planned", kwim?

Calimama replied: I offered to watch my neighbor's 3 kids this weekend so she can get a break. She's reallllllly pregnant and has a husband who helps with NOTHING. dry.gif

Calimama replied:
Sure.. the more the merrier. Haha my DH said his good deed is not killing her husband yet for being such a jerk. rolling_smile.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I finally put a banana nut cake in the oven, that Chris' co-worker has only been asking for me to remake for a month and a half now. laugh.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: pats on the back to all of you.

my good deed of the day happened at the grocery store. I was leaving the produce section when a young, good looking guy came up and said "excuse me ma'am, do you know what browing sauce is and where I might find it?". Well, I'd never heard of browing sauce so I said no. Not five minutes later, I was looking for a specific olive and three kinds of browning sauce almost fell into my hands. rolling_smile.gif I left my cart there and hunted him down through the store to give him the browning sauce. He was so grateful. biggrin.gif

Cece00 replied: I booked a 2nd night @ a hotel for my BF's wedding. She really wants me & my DH to stay 2 nights and even though its costing me a few hundred more, we are going to stay 2 nights.

Considering that she didnt even come to OUR wedding, which was very hurtful b/c she is my BF, I think that is a very good deed. She was having a lot of problems at that time and I think she just wasnt able to cope with us being so happy & was jealous of our happiness (we have all been really good friends for about 13 yrs) so she didnt come. But we almost were not friends because of that. But DH and I are going to be the bigger people, and she is our friend, so we're gonna do the right thing.

I'm also forgoing a big V-Day present so that I can use the $$ to go with her to the Spa & get massaged & pedi's for her wedding...DH and I will still go out to eat, but I spent over $300 on his V-Day present, so its a big sacrifice for me to forgo a present from my DH.

But again, she's my BF, so I will do what I gotta do.

cameragirl21 replied: great job on all your good deeds.
mine was to feed a couple stray cats in my yard AGAIN. happy.gif

MyBabeMaddie replied: Aww you guys I feel like such a jerk I honestly didn't do anything nice for anyone today sleep.gif

luvmykids replied: I returned some phone calls for FIL that he'd been dreading. I admit I did it a little grudgingly at first but when I was done it felt good to have helped him out sleep.gif

amymom replied: This is such a great thread!!! I was at a meeting tonight, and what I came away with was that I would look for the opportunities (no matter how small) to find good things to do for others. And I found this thread. How weird is that?!?!?!?

I gave someone some information that will help her get past an issue she has been struggling with.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Here's one - I didn't kick my kids' arses today....I let them live...until tomorrow... dry.gif growl.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I helped a sweet older couple find the ER.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I went into the dungeon (AKA extremely cold, dark and unorganized file room) to find old employee files for a coworker who was busy.

TheOaf66 replied: I noticed the dad that was sitting next to me at Awana club forgot his cell phone, I contacted his house and dropped it off on my way home.

Oh ya, I don't think I did anything today. dunno.gif Not even pick dh a coffee at Tim's, (only because he would have wanted a treat, and we already had nachos and salsa on Thursday and I thought today for sure we'd be having cake or something). I did offer to make him one at home though.
