My child, the mooner.

Sophia got disciplined on the playground yesterday by a teacher who usually doesn't watch them. Sophia spit at her (like this ), threw mulch at her, and then dropped trou and MOONED her
Where on earth did she learn this? She's never done this around me... I can only imagine one of the kids at school did it and she picked it up there. I am mortified.
We had a long talk about it, and I have no idea if I got through to her. This morning I said something like "acting that way hurts their feelings. You don't want to make people sad, do you?" She said, "yes, I like to make people sad." What is going on with this kid??
luvbug00 replied: OMG!!! that's hillarious... I mean.... that's awful...Well i hope she won't do that again..maybe when she is calm and you can have a chat with her. Sometimes they get pent up anger, you know, and just don't want to talk..
kit_kats_mom replied: OMG Sophia! Shame on you. Puttin that cute little hiney out there for god and everyone to see.
Sorry Amy. I can see where you'd be mortified but it is kinda funny. I can totally see her little sassy self going there.
luvmykids replied: Mine say stuff like that too, I have no idea where that comes from.
BTW-sorry for laughing!
jacobsmama replied: OMG Poor mommy being mortified like this!!
We shouldn't laugh. I would say unless she does it again she shouldn't be considered the MOONING child.
kayla's mama replied: OMG I'm sorry to laugh Hopefully that was a one time thing
DansMom replied: Sophia MUST have seen an older kid do something like that. It sounds like a 7-YO antic. It's hard to know what to do when they answer your rhetorical question with "Yes, I do want to [fill in the blank]". Hopefully she won't do that again. Poor substitute teacher, I can just imagine.
Nina J replied: It is kind of funny, but if I were you, I'd be mortified too.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm sitting here literally with my mouth to the floor!!! I can't believe Sophia did that. I'm sure she is just looking for a reaction. And of course she learned it from another kid. She probably wasn't the only one doing it, but they don't tell you that.
Maddie did several things that just had me winding my butt and scratching my watch at that age. Boy did that girl like to test me. I always got the 'mean mommy voice' and told her that she will NOT act that way b/c I will NOT tolerate behavior such as that. It embarasses HER and it embarasses ME and I would not stand for it. Using words beyond her comprehension always makes her listen. It must make it sound so much more serious She just stares at me and says "Yes Ma'am".
Maddie is much like Sophia...telling her she is hurting someone's feelings never phases her. She just argues back. "Well, they hurt MY feelings" "They told me to do something I didn't want to do" I really have to be tough on her.
This teacher may not be someone Sophia respects as her elder b/c she isn't used to her, but she does need to know that she needs to respect all authority figures...even if she doesn't know them. I'm sure you told her that.
Bee_Kay replied: LOL! WOW! The things kids do sometimes!!
MommyToAshley replied: I'm sorry I am laughing so hard. It just sounds so out of character for Sophia! I'm sure she got it from another kid. If it were me, I am sure I would have been speechless at the moment the teacher gave the report.
They sure do keep us on our toes.
JAYMESMOM replied: Sorry I have to laugh since Jayme did this to my mom not long ago. She was videotaping her being silly and the next thing my mom knew she had dropped her pants and underwear turned to my mom and said "Kissa my booty"
It was a hilarious moment at that point but she was promptly informed to pull up her pants. The only thing I could point it to is I am constanly hounding my husband to pull up his drawers he has plumbers butt. So she must think it was okay.
If she does it again I would worry but she was probably just upset she got in trouble by someone she didnt know.
Our children you have to love them Just remember they will be parents one day themselves and we can just sit and
ediep replied: OMG! Amy, that is hysterical!!! SO sorry, I can see how you'd be embarressed
I don't know what I would have said if Jason's teacher ever told me he mooned her! I think I would laugh!!!
gr33n3y3z replied: She did a Bart lol
Sorry its funny
I dont know what to say
redchief replied: I'm not laughing. I swear I'm not.
All I can say is I'm glad my children have outgrown that. And no I'm not laughing.
kimberley replied: sweet Sophia mooning??? nope.. couldn't be ! i agree with Aimee about her not knowing the teacher and that she likely didn't do this alone. sorry that happened but you will laugh about it one day
Brias3 replied: I'm sorry, I had to laugh at this! I'm sure its something talked about at school amongst the kiddos- they all think stuff like that is hilarious. You'll look back and laugh someday (if you haven't already)
My2Beauties replied: I am wide eyed and mouth to the floor as well but I'm also secretly hiding the biggest smile ever! OK, I know it's not funny when it's your kid at all, but I agree with what Aimee said.
holley79 replied: When I first read the subject line, all I could think was that episode of Yes, Dear when the little boy was mooning his friends because he thought it was funny.
Amy I'm sorry that she is acting like this. Is it maybe a phase. I guess I will have to deal with it one of these days.
to you. Maybe you and her will be able to talk about it.
