My bows - an update
PrairieMom wrote: I just wanted to let you all know how my little bow business is going.
Its going GREAT! I have made a few sales, and made a few bucks. It has been so much fun hearing about all the little girls that are enjoying them. I am so glad that you guys encouraged me to take the leap!
I have decided that my business name will be Prairie Mom creations, just so I am not limited by my name, and that I will try to sell other things as well. I will be getting a Tax ID and a website as soon as my DH has time to help me out with it.
So, thank you for your support in this! With out your encouragement, I would just be making bows for Al, and not getting extra spending cash!
lovemy2 replied: AWESOME - I will be ordering soon -
So glad you are going for it - if you need help with the tax id let me know - I do it for a living its a piece of cake and you can do it online at the IRS website....
If you need any other tax advice pm me
My3LilMonkeys replied: Glad it's going so well for you!!!
On a side note, I don't know if you're getting my emails. Please let me know.
PrairieMom replied: I haven't gotten one today, I replied to the one you sent yesterday. Did you get it? I sent you my new pictures.
Boys r us replied: Tara, I think that is incredible that you've taken the initiative to go forward with this!!!!
My3LilMonkeys replied: I found it, thanks - apparently my email has dumped several of your emails into the Spam folder. Sorry.
PrairieMom replied:
Perhaps it isn't meant to be. Good grief.
CantWait replied: Tara I'm so glad you decided to go ahead with it. Nice job.
maestra replied: I want to know too! Dh and I design jewelry on the side. I sell them every now and then, but wanted to be able to do it at craft fairs and such.
ETA- and congrats on getting your business up and going- it's something I've been wanting to do for a while.
A&A'smommy replied: That is SOOO awesome Tara!!! I can't wait until you get your website up I want to order some!!!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: It is great when you sell something you make and people enjoy it! It always gives me a big boost! I have been getting my Christmas stock built up to make a few extra Santa bucks Yay! for you and your new business! Don't forget to file a DBA in your area so you can protect your company name and if you are going to charge tax be sure to keep all your reciepts for your ribbon and booth rentals, server fees, mileage, etc. If you will be keeping records on your computer you can deduct part of it's value and if you have a home office you can use that space in your home and deduct a % of your electric and water useage as well
MoonMama replied: Tara I am so glad its going well! CONGRATS!
Kaitlin'smom replied: wooo hoo thats awsome, and I promise I will post pics of Kaitlin and hers. She LOVES them and is ready to order more.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Awesome Tara! Too bad I don't have a little girl. And I think Troy would kill me if I put them on one of the boys.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: That is so awesome Tara, good for you!!!! Now if only I could get my creative juices flowing and startup something like you... Send over some of your inspiration, will ya?
PrairieMom replied: LOL. Sometimes it just hits ya like a bus. It never occurred that other mommies would be interested in Al's bows, even tho I was getting comments on them daily from people I see around town. It took you ladies to open my eyes. Even if i never sell another one, it has been a really rewarding experience. I just wish I could see the little girls wear them in person. That would be so much fun.
momofone replied: I think they make as a nice gift too.
PrairieMom replied: yes they do.
bawoodsmall replied: uh.. I dont know about the bows so someone fill me in please. Maybe a pic????
kimberley replied: that's awesome, Tara!! wishing u much more success!
PrairieMom replied: Here is a link to the thread I started a week or so ago about the bows that I was making for my daughter.

bawoodsmall replied: Ok I found it. I seriously want some. How do I buy some? They are so cute.
moped replied: Ok, so why don't you also branch off itno headbands, the really soft cotton ones so I can buy soem for my hairless child.....I am assuming she will be hairless for a while. And before Christmas.....LOL - I want her to be a christmas princess.
