My New Tattoo - Sorry No Pictures Yet

Kirstenmumof3 wrote: biggrin.gif I absolutely love it! The Tattoo Artist sketched it out from a picture that I had choosen from a Tattoo Magazine. He modified it, originally it was supposed to be 2 birds flying, holding a banner with 3 hearts in-between the birds. Then I wanted the kids names on the banner. Well he didn't want to do it that way, he said you wouldn't be able to see the whole tatto, it woud wrap around my arm. He has one bird holding a ribbon, and the ribbon winding around 3 hearts and each of the kids names is on the ribbon. It's beautiful! ohmy.gif But OMG is it ever burning right now! I'm such a wuss! This one hurt more than the one around my ankle. It's on my right arm coming down from my shoulder almost to my elbow. The bird is in different shades of blue, the ribbon looks like antique paper and the hearts are red. I can't wait to take the bandage off and show the kids tomorrow! biggrin.gif

I saw one like that on Miami Ink and the artist left enough room for the man to add his grandchildren as the family grew wub.gif I need to go get the sun on mine re-done and I am scared emlaugh.gif I wish Tay had made it orange or purple anything that showed up a little easier! laugh.gif

i am wanting to get another tattoo soooooo bad.

Simplebeliever replied: That sounds like a really neat tattoo. I can't wait to see pictures of it. How are you letting it heal?

When I get new ink I keep it bandaged for 2-3 hours and then let it air out. For the first day or so I use a&d ointment or tattoo gooand after that I find that regular ol' vasoline seems to help me stay itch-free during the worst of the scabbing.

Congratulations on your new ink! Was this your first tattoo?

J-rod replied:
mine never scabbed or itched at all. i took the bandage off a few hours later...then kept it clean and lubricated with A&D. and i had no scabbing or anything. the artist said my skin "inks very well...it really likes tattoos" uh-oh.....dont tell me that emlaugh.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yeah I have had tattos done 7 times. (I have 6, because I had some lilies added to an anhk just below my sternum) and good ole Vaseline worked better than anything else. tongue.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied:
They told me to leave the bandage on overnight and then wash it with mild soap. Then just to use Lubriderm lotion. It worked well with my first one and I didn't have any scabbing, although it did itch, but I didn't scratch it and it looks beautiful. My first one is a vine with flowers around my ankle.
