My New Outfit - Pic inside - Advice needed
AshleyRose wrote: I order this outfit from a lady on ebay who custom makes them. I picked out the colors, design etc. I wanted to wear this really bad to my Dave Matthews Band concert in july. When I got the outfit, it fit perfect! I love it so much but then I looked at the shirt and look what I found!!! Is this something I can fix? Is it something I can just leave and it wont get worse (doubt it )? I need some seamstress advice LOL . My guess is that it is ruined and I need to contact the lady but I know nothing about this sort of stuff....
So below i have it far away and then up close.. Let me know what you think...
Im so sad about it.. I hope I dont have to send it back and then not be able to wear it to the concert
AshleyRose replied: close up..
mckayleesmom replied: Im not seeing what is wrong..the pic is kind of dark...can you explain it?
AshleyRose replied: I think you caught the post right before I added the close up...
If I am wrong let me know and I will lighten both pics...
mckayleesmom replied: Is it a tare or a spot? Either way...you look like you are going with the 70's hippy style...maybe tie a hemp braid or something around it, just to cover it up for now...or a ribbon or something perhaps...When is the concert?
AshleyRose replied: Oh and pardon my kitchen and scruffiness.. LOL i just woke up and took the pics so I could ask and figure out what the heck was going on...
AshleyRose replied: its where the top and apron part come together.. the material is coming out of the stitching..
Good idea with the hemp thing .. I never thought of that.... but I payed good money for it and I dont know if it will worsen over time... ??
mckayleesmom replied: Personally it looks like an easy fix...did you send her the material to make it? If so...go get some more of the material and just sew it around that seem to cover it up. If you don't have any of the material...something in the dark blue to go around it...It would still look really pretty.
mckayleesmom replied: Well..if you think you will get it back in time...go ahead and send it...otherwise I would just wait till after the concert to send it...and quick fix it now.
ediep replied: i'd contact the seller and tell her to send out another one tomorrow and you'll send the damaged one back.
otherwise you could easily sew it, it looks the the stiching is coming apart, but if you aren't comfortable doing that, then send it back
mckayleesmom replied: If you know someone that can sew...I would go ahead and ask them to stitch it up for you....Sometimes things like that happen, probably more hassle to send it back then to fix it yourself...I bought Mckaylee an outfit from Target...really cute peasant tank top and shorts and the first time she wore it, I noticed that the shoulder straps were hanging by a thread...I have to fix it, but its a pretty easy thing to do.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I would contact the seller and send the pic and ask if she will send another one ASAP and then you can send back the damaged one. What ever you do contact her and let her know it damamged and yes it will come apart further so if some thing iss not done befor eyouwear it for a while or wash it it will fall further appart

Jamison'smama replied: I personally (although not an expert seamstress) think it looks like a difficult stitch and that it has unraveled some so that it would not just be something you could tuck under and restitch. The material looks like it pulls apart easily--I would email her the picture, tell her you want another one- or at least a partial refund so that you can get someone to fix it. Then I would take it to a tailor shop there or find someone who knows how to work with that material to re-stitch it.
AshleyRose replied: it is a really strange material too .. its like stretchy and .. I dont know ... weird
i didnt send her the material either so I will just email her... shes seems to be a pretty fair person so I hope I don't have any issues... I just don't know what to propose so it works out for the both of us...
Thanks so far for the great ideas... you guys are sweet
Boys r us replied: That's is one adorable outfit and perfect for a Dave concert!!
I hope that she will fix it for you with no problems!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: We have the same coffee pot!
Cute outfit! and I agree...perfect for a Dave Matthews concert.
I am a seamstress. Contacting this lady is the best thing to do. You can tell by looking that she didn't allow enough for seam allowance and she obviously sewed too close to the seam for this type of material and it caused it to unravel. HOnest mistake...happens to me all the time. I'm sure she will do the right thing and you will have it in time for the concert!
Cary Lynn replied: that outfit is so cute!! Is she still selling those??I'd love one..hehehe
JessC replied: I love the outfit!
Other than that, I would definitly try sewing it, or maybe you can have someone you know sew it, you could send it back but it all depends when your concert is, and how far she lives away from you, kwim?
Good luck!
