Ha-ha! Guess what? I figured it out.
So, here's a picture of Michael, age 15.5, taken over Christmas break...

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm STILL laughing! Good pictures!
loveydad replied: What good looking kids! Your youngest is just adorable!
paradisemommy replied: gorgeous family you have!!!
texasp3 replied: Thanks... my youngest is a total flirt who LOVES the camera. He bats those lashes and twinkles those blue eyes at anyone.
Although, he does have a very special crush on Aimee!
They're both great kids, although number 2 is proving to be much more of a handful. Maybe I'm just old and tired!
ediep replied: great pics!!! Handsome boys!
ctymom replied: Thanks for sharing your pictures! Handsome guys

mom21kid2dogs replied: Even the dog in your house is a cutie!! What handsome men you've got!!
texasp3 replied:
Thanks! The dog is actually in my Mom's house.
He is a cutie though, and a boy too. His name is Sammy, and he's the same age as Gabriel. They have so much in common, we refer to them as twins. I talk to my Mom on the phone practically every day and our conversations are usually punctuated with "Sammy/Gabriel, what's in your mouth??" or "I've got to go, Sammy/Gabriel is chewing on ___!" and other hysterical commonalities.

It is fun! I'm spoiled rotten. My 15 year old is wonderful! He likes jazz, blues, good food. He enjoys cooking and he's a HUGE help with Gabriel whom he absolutely ADORES.
They're actually half-brothers and it would have been so easy for Michael to resent a baby in the house, dominating everything. Not to mention the potential for difficulty with DH being Michael's STEP-Dad and Gabriel's "REAL"-Dad... and so on. But Michael's so big on family, and he's always wanted a brother, so he's just delighted.
Last Wednesday night, I woke up in the middle of the night with the stomach flu. When Gabriel woke at 2:30, hungry and crying, I had a fever of 100. I seldom run fevers, and have a below average normal temp, so 100 for me is AWFUL. I was totally comfortable waking Michael up to ask for his help. He jumped right out of bed and took over, fed Gabriel and put him back to sleep, sent me back to bed and informed me that if I was still sick in the morning I was going to the doctor! Of course, by morning, he was sick too!
Anyway, the only problem he's given us since entering the teens was grades in school. He's very bright, but until this year, very disorganized and lazy. Which describes most of the boys I know at that age! It was SO frustrating though, to have this smart boy who kept bringing home failing grades simply because he didn't do his work, didn't hand it in, didn't know he had a test.. and on and on. Any attempt to discuss the situation with him just had him glaring at the floor and muttering "I dunno."
Then this year, he totally turned it around. He's a sophomore and his first semester grades were all As, with the exception of an 88 in Spanish. I'm so proud of him, I could just pop.
And obviously, once you get me started talking about him... I can't stop either!!
