My First Appointment

But we did get to hear the heartbeat, and I wasn't prepared for that! Kind of overwhelmed me. We could see the little heart moving on the screen, and then the nurse turned on the sound. Wow... That's about all I could say!

So I have ultrasound pics, but they sure don't show much! lol Nurse said that at this point, its hard to even distinguish head from rump!

And we have a due date of July 28!

Doctor said that everything looks great, that she doesn't foresee any problems at this point, and I go back in a month!

So that's that! It was so amazing! Made everything so much more real than it was--for both me and hubby! Next u/s will be 20 weeks... man that seems like a long time away!! lol

smullin replied: I had my first ultra sound at seven weeks. Doesn't that baby look so little ?? I kept my pictures. I can't wait to see the baby now because he/seh has so much more features. That heartbeat was great to see on the screen. I didn't get to listen but my next appointment next week I will. Can't wait. I thought 20 weeks would be far away when they first told me that at my first appointment but it has already been a month since my ultra sound and it seems like a week only. Time will go quicker then you think. How are you feeling ??

Tamatha replied: I'm doing ok today. I haven't had too much m/s, but I'm learning that I can't let my tummy get too empty, or I start to not feel so good! And since I took a 1/2 day today, my eating is all messed up. Then I spent 3 hours on my feet and I usually just sit at a desk... so at the moment, I'm not feeling so great! Hubby is working on dinner, and that will help a bunch, I think!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: That's great! I didn't get a pic when I got my u/s because it was a portable u/s machine at my clinic. 20 weeks seemed like forever to me too but now it's only 5 weeks away!

Emeraldsmom replied: How exciting. I remember when I was pregnant w/my daughter Emerald, it didn't really hit me that I was pg until that first ultrasound and I saw that there was really a baby in my tummy!!!

paradisemommy replied: yep..i agree with everyone..at my first u/s where you got to see the hb and the baby - i was in tears cause it makes it that much more real!!! congrats on a great appt. and trust me - 20 wks sounds so far away but you'll blink and it'll be here!!
