My Fiance's favorite band - is in town

J-rod wrote: Vs The Earth is in town next friday night. the come around every few months and we try to go see them. only thing is they play the bars/clubs. we went and saw them in Dec when they were in.....thing is there will be people smoking in there and i worry about the baby. im thinking maybe we can go and try to avoid it as much as possible. plus the sound is LOUD and full of BASS....prolly not good for the baby either. we just went to a brad paisley concert last weekend....but we were far enough from the speakers and such it wasnt that bad.

so what do you think...safe enough to go? i really really want to take her cause she loves this band. they dont come around alot...before dec they hadnt been in since early summer. they a band from balt. md area. lead singer is from the morgantown WV area so thats why they still come down here.

mckayleesmom replied: Well...I personally would go and try to find a table away from people that are smoking....Second hand smoke is everywhere and you can't always avoid it, even at restaruants....If you go and the smoke is overwhelming then I would just leave.

kit_kats_mom replied: I would go. I went to see the Suicidal Tendencies when I was early in my first pregnancy and I went to see They Might Be Giants near the end of it. I just sat near the back where there were less smokers. Oh, and I stayed out of the mosh pit! LOL During the TMBG concert, I covered up my belly with a thick coat because it was in a really small venue and it was way loud. I didn't want to hurt the baby's eardrums. rolleyes.gif

BTW & totally off topic but did you know that TMBG are the ones who sing the theme song to Higglytown Heros? I thought that was pretty funny that one of my favorite bands in high school are now singing kids songs. rolling_smile.gif blink.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I say take her, as well. Enjoy yourselves, and if it is loud and bothersome- leave. Otherwise when she gets bigger and more pronounced with a bowling ball sitting on her pancake bladder she may not be as willing to go to crowded places. No need to tell you that life & habits change after the baby comes.... enjoy yourselves now! smile.gif smile.gif

3xsthefun replied: Sorry, off topic, I didn't even know there was another member here from WV. I thought I was the only one.

Ok, I agree with the others I would go ahead and take her and enjoy yourselves.

If the music gets to loud for you all or if the smoking gets to bad, then you could just leave.

Bee_Kay replied: I would go smile.gif

Try to stay away from the smoke and I am sure the baby is pretty protected from the sound smile.gif

How far are along is she now?

J-rod replied: well this is a small venue...the smoking will be in the back...front is a dance floor. so which is the lesser of 2 evils...loud or smoke.....smoke isnt thick...i think its jsut the fact i KNOW its there.

last time we were on the edge of the dance floor and were kinda roomy. im not worried about getting banged around. just noise and smoke really.

J-rod replied:
14 weeks

Bee_Kay replied: Oh heck, the baby just might enjoy it smile.gif

J-rod replied: definately!

this baby will lve music.... in 14 weeks this will be the third concert. smile.gif

Vs the earth twice, and Brad Paisley. it will be very diverse in music too. LOL

www.vstheearth.com to check out this band if anyone interested. check out there song samples...and list. i love the song "friend zone"

Edward's Mommy replied: I'd go!!! And different types of music is good!!! My DH and I listen to Coheed and Cambria, Metallica, Nirvana....Hanson is my favorite band. I listen to Shania Twain and LeAnn Rimes. I grew up on Steely Dan, Harry Connick Jr., Billy Joel, Van Morrison, Michael and Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, and Mariah Carey. My dad is an All American White Boy and my mom is half Spanish, half Black. My DH is into heavy metal and my grandparents are into country. And I listen to EVERYTHING!!! So get that kiddo into all types of music!!!

luvmykids replied: I say go, DH and I played in a pool league that was always in bars through the beginning of my first pg. I just avoided the smoke best I could, and the doc said it was going to have more affect on me than baby.
