More than meets the eye...

my2monkeyboys wrote: Has anyone seen/taken their kids to see Transformers? I know it's rated pg 13, and usually we don't let Will see those movies (exceptions: Spiderman 1 and 2), but he's dying to see Transformers. I don't know anyone that's seen it though to know how bad it is. If the fighting scenes are too intense I know it may bother him a little, and of course I don't want bad language (one or 2 mild words doesn't make it off-limits, depending on the rest of the movie), or a lot of sexual things. I always watch movies before I let him watch them, but I can't afford to buy tickets twice to go see this thing, ya know?
So, can anyone share some info on this movie?
Thanks!

amynicole21 replied: I took Sophia who is 4. There is language in it - probably about 4 or 5 bad words. There is also violence but not bloody. There was one scene that irritated me where the parents of the boy ask why his door was locked and if he was masturbating... of course Sophia asked what that was but I was able to shush her and she forgot about it rolleyes.gif

flirtycuddle replied: I went and saw it last night and the fighting isn't to bad really. There were only a few bad words and the one scene with his parents and the locked door. It was pretty good for being about a cartoon to.

Crystalina replied: Evan loves the Transformer toys but he is only 3 (will turn 4 next month) but I know him and he won't be into the movie. I watched the previews and it looked too dark to me. I'm not saying it is I just don't like movies like that.

stella6979 replied: We saw it and I didn't think it was that bad at all. There was a little blood scene in the beginning, but other than that, it was mostly good "clean" fighting. Of course you've got your good guys and your bad guys, but I think they also put a lot of emphasis on the boy and his friendship with the Autobots. There were a few curse words and obviously the bedroom scene has already been mentioned, but hey, masterbation is a part of life and they'll learn about it eventually. I guess it just all depends on what you want your child exposed too. Aside from all that though, it was a great movie and even if you decide not to take Will, I bet you and your DH would enjoy it.

Kaitlin'smom replied: DH saw it and NO to Kait seeing it. So she did not go when the sitter's DH took his son.

paradisemommy replied: taven saw it and loved it..his aunty took him and didn't have any bad things to say about it..

my2monkeyboys replied: Well... now I'm really undecided.... LOL
I think he'd love it, but I may just wait until it comes out in the dollar theater, that way I won't have wasted too much money if we decide we need to leave.
Thanks for the opinions!!!

alice&arik replied: We took Arik, he LOVED it! We weren't even half way through the movie and he was saying he loved it. I started crying when Bumble bee was taken away, bawling.gif hormones!!

When we left the movie Arik kept saying that was a great movie!! We might go again! thumb.gif

luvbug00 replied: Mya saw it and loved it. I think it would be best to wait for the $1 theater or when it comes on DVD if you are unsure thumb.gif good idea wink.gif

stella6979 replied:
Awwww.....but you won't get the FULL EFFECT of the movie if you wait for the DVD. LOL! J/K!

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm waiting for the DVD I hate the movies

my2monkeyboys replied: I love the movies, but I HATE the prices!! It's gone up to $9 per adult!
