Calimama wrote: How did her surgery go this morning? Hopefully great!

Mommy2Isabella replied: Her surgery went FANTASTIC!!

She smilied at them when she woke up, they said that NEVER happens... lol we were in and out of there in 2 hours!!

Thank you for asking!!

Calimama replied:
That's awesome hun!! hug.gif hug.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Glad everything went so well! Now let her have lots of ice-cream and yummy treats-I don't know if it works any sort of miracle but my friends little girl just had tubes in and we used it as an excuse to make smoothies emlaugh.gif YUMMY!

Mommy2Isabella replied: No Ice Cream for Bella ... lol she is lactose intolerant ... sad.gif

luvbug00 replied: Jello? tongue.gif glad all went well

cameragirl21 replied: glad to hear Bella is doing well. smile.gif
sorry to hear she is lactose intolerant, that can't be much fun.

Mommy2Isabella replied: She does love Jello .. she has a small get together tonight for her birthday and she will have a chocolate cake, WHICH SHE LOVES smile.gif ... lol !!

gr33n3y3z replied:
Oh No when did they find that out?

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm glad Bella is going so well
hug.gif hug.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: When she was a few months old, she was projectile vomiting her formula sad.gif , so we switched to soy, which I prefer, thats all we as a family drink anyway. I am lactose intolerant as well so it wasn't a huge shocker, I will eat ice cream and suffer later ... I think sometimes it is worth it ... LOL

cameragirl21 replied:
you can get lactaid ice cream or take lactase pills to counter this problem.

Mommy2Isabella replied: gosh it just wouldn't taste as good without the milk though ... LOL !!!

I don't take medication huh.gif Im one of those ... lol

luvbug00 replied: emlaugh.gif

cameragirl21 replied:
lactaid ice cream still has milk in it, you can also buy lactaid milk, they just take out the lactose.
btw, lactase is not a medication, it's a digestive enzyme, it's simply what your body isn't making. by definition, being lactose intolerant means that your body lacks lactase enzyme.

grapfruit replied:
Glad Bella is doing good. I must of missed something...what was she having surgery for??

tongue.gif I take those generic grocery brand lactate pills. Life savers. I've never been "officially" deemed lactose intolerant. Just self dignosed I guess. I figure if I eat some ice cream and like 5 min later am doubled over in pain...maybe it's the ice cream. wink.gif I can eat an entire bowl w/one of those pills though!!! tongue.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: hahah I guess I showed my knowledge, the lactaid milk give me HORRID GAS ... as well as Bella, so I am sure the ice cream would do the same.

We are all soy .. do they make soy icecream?

luvbug00 replied: they do make soy ice cream. I saw it in safeway before and whole foods has it too.

cameragirl21 replied:
yes, there is soy ice cream. i see it all the time at Wild Oats and Whole Foods, idk where else you can get it.
i've never tried soy milk but i don't think i'd like it.
i used to eat a lot of soy products (because of my vegetarianism) but then i got diagnosed with hypothryoidism and mostly gave it up because soy is not good for the thyroid.
it's always something.... wink.gif laugh.gif
oh yeah--i have seen soy ice cream at Publix (or major grocer here) so you can probably get it at your grocery too. but there is a lot more selection at whole foods and wild oats.

Mommy2Isabella replied: We do most grocery shopping at whole foods for the organic products! smile.gif

I am an organic JUNKIE!

cameragirl21 replied:
me too...you know what they say--whole foods, whole paycheck. wink.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: HAHAHAHAHAHA I never heard that ... lol

gr33n3y3z replied:
yeah my son John is that way also and Katie highly Lactose Intolerant she cant even eat anything dairy she takes pills every am they workall day long just incase she digests Lactose
When they tested her the test should only take I think and hour 2 the most we were there for 4 hours until her counts came down and the following day she was so sick from the test.

Maybe you should try these pills its called Digestive Advantage and they are drug free thats what Katie takes the adult pills they are make it for Toddler age too

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Glad she is doing well. And I'm glad it ended up being outpatient afterall and you could bring her home. thumb.gif

If Bella is lactose intolerant, be careful with what kind of cake you give her. wink.gif

Jennifer we call it whole paycheck, too. laugh.gif

luvbug00 replied: if you have a trader joes they have natural stuff too at half the price!

my favorite chips at WF 4.99

at trader joes 2.50

BIG differance to my wallet! emlaugh.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: It wasn't outpatient ... lol Im not sure how the system works, she had to be discharged and all that ... for some reason it was still considered inpatient ... either way it went well and I didn't have to pay 1000 dollars so im happy!!

gr33n3y3z replied: he are other words for lactose

gr33n3y3z replied:

BAC'sMom replied: Glad everything went well

Mommy2Isabella replied: Hey Lisa thanks for that information.
