Mom and dad
coasterqueen wrote: Well, my mom got home from her back surgery today. She had the surgery on Thursday. My dad has asked that I stay with her all week (during day while he's at work) to help her out. NOT what I wanted to do, especially with the kids, but I couldn't say no. I'm just going to send Kylie to daycare all week because she'll have more fun there then what I'm going to be doing.
Yesterday I found out that my dad is seeing some heart doc about his heart. He's been complaining of chest pains for some time and they think he has a clogged artery. I just pray whatever it is it gets taken care of before he has a heart attack.
The two of them really have me freaked out right now.
luvbug00 replied: I hope your mother has a speedy and healthy recovery and your father is able to solve his heart aches. My prayers are with you.
Mommy2BAK replied: I am so sorry to hear about your parents. But that is very sweet of you to help them out!
Insanemomof3 replied: Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope that they can find the problem and fix it fast. Also hope that your mom recovers fast and that you keep your sanity during the caregiving time. Will keep you in my thoughts.

mckayleesmom replied: Oh geesh...if it isn't one thing..its another huh??...Hope everyone recovers fast.
mammag replied: I'm so sorry things are rough right now. I think that is a good idea to send her to daycare so she can have some fun she would probably go stir crazy.
Lots of prayers that your mom recovers quickly and all is well with Dad. You're a great daughter!!!!!
amymom replied: I hope your mom recovers quickly and is a good patient for you. I hope your dad learns whats wrong and it gets fixed.
Take care of yourself in the middle of all the caregiving.

DansMom replied: I still remember my mom's state of mind when her parents developed medical problems, and now I'm the age she was then... it's a scary time of our lives. I'm glad your mom got through the surgery, and I hope your dad's heart issues can be managed
Kaitlin'smom replied: hope your mom feels better fast and they figure out whats going on with your dad, have they considered gull blatter? MY DH had his removed years ago, it cause ALOT of chest pain, so much they did think it was his heart.
jcc64 replied: I am unfortunately in that stage of life where I'm simultaneously being pulled by the needs of the generations before and after me. I've felt an overwhelming responsibility to "prop up" my mom after my dad's death last Oct., and now Steve's dad has all kinds of cardiac issues that we need to assist with. And we live 100 miles away from them. So, believe me, Karen, you're singing my song. It's definitely a difficult position to be in, bc you want to be there for them as they have for you, but taking care of 2 young children at the same time is surely no picnic. Hang in there, and do the best that you can. One fire at a time....
Btw- tell your dad to deal with his cardiac issues asap. Cardiac problems are eminently fixable, providng you don't wait too long. (which men tend to do)
iluvmysweetiepies replied: So true. My dad has ending up in the hospital many times from waiting too long to tell anyone something is wrong.
I'm really sorry, Karen. Prayers for you dad and lots of speedy recovery wishes to your mom.
A&A'smommy replied: UGh I know how you feel first it was my mom and now its my dad!! I hope they get better quickly!!! (((((HUGS)))) to you and LOTS Of P&PT"s for all of ya'll!
