~KARA~ replied: All the time and It makes me MAD!
Im Kara not Car-a!
amynicole21 replied: Not with my name, but the one thing that really irks me is that my own mother cannot pronounce Sophia's name... she says Sephia (like the car). I've corrected her before, but she just keeps saying it. Grrrr!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Even though my name isn't the traditional spelling of "Amy" I have never had anyone mispronounce it. Now, get someone to SPELL it and that is another story. My best friend of 26 years just learned how to spell it correctly a few years ago.
ETA: I'm very anal about spelling other's names correctly for this very reason.
iluvmysweetiepies replied: My name is said correctly for the most part, but spelled wrong a lot. LOL But our last name is a different story. Almost never spelled correctly or said correctly if someone doesn't know us. (But that came in handy before caller ID, LOL if they mispronouced our last name we knew it was a tellermarketer. )
JessC replied: Well Jessica is pretty common so nobody really messes that up but they do spell it wrong!
Like everyone on the west coast thinks my name is spelled
Jessika or Jessicaa
mama3x replied: ME ME ME ME ME! ALL MY LIFE!!!!!!!!
My first name is Dionne, like Dionne Warwick, Deion Sanders, and many other black male athletes.
I have been called:
Diane Deeann Diana Deanna Deena Donna Leon (what the heck is that, I'm a FEMALE!) Dayna Dinah Dawn
My maiden last name was ALL VOWELS (Hawaiian name) so no one outside of Hawai`i got it right and even people here don't get it right.
My married name now is Higa, pronounced Hee-ga, but a lot of people from the mainland say Hi-ga...the "i" short like in the word "hill".
Mommy2BAK replied: Oh man, where do I start????
My first name is Tamara (the middle A is silent so its like Tam-ra)
Tamara (like Tam-air-a) Cameron Tam (wich is okay, my family & friends call me this) Tammy (I hate being called Tammy)
If we were to do last names I could have you all rolling with what all I have to go through.
And poor Blakely, maybe I should have named her something easier. She already has a difficult last name.
ferocity302 replied: ok ladies...... I can get into this one easy. LOL
my name is Cherie not too hard but I have to spell it every time because there is sooooooooo many different ways to spell it.
My maden last name was french and I wont even go into all the different ways they used to mess that up. But it seems to be a family thing for names my sister's name is Venece........ like va niece but so many want to say Venice. And then she named her youngest Steffany.... original spelling on that one.
Luckily both my brother and my dad have it easy with Pat and my mom with Pearl.
Isn't it fun!
I also have a second cousin who's first and middle name is Vasili Karook (Billy bear)
mammag replied: Mine is my last name also. I am shocked when people actually pronounce it correctly because it isn't spelled at all like it's pronounced. I've had it pronounced right only a few times just by the spelling..... it doesn't bother me at all though because I had a hard time with it when I first met Chris.
A&A'smommy replied: ONLY on person I work close too well she NEVER calls me the same thing lets see she has called me
Jennifer Amanda and there is more but I can't remember right now
aricka replied: Well my name is Aricka (pronounced Erica) so you can imagine all of the names I have been called....and don't get me started on the spelling...
Amanda Ashley Andrea Africa
Basically anything that begins with an "A", I have been called that......
DansMom replied: Stacy, Terri, Teresa...
I've found that people who misremember my name are usually people who are trying to make a big show of how busy they are. Seriously. When I was younger, just starting out in the work force, it would usually be someone with seniority who was assigned to train me in some task, whether it was expediting orders at Burger King or typing letters in a secretarial pool. And it was a burden to have to train me AND get my name right, sigh. I associate the name Stacy with people who don't have time for me and would rather not be bothered. Isn't that funny?
A&A'smommy replied: Well only one of my co-workers has called me something besides what my name really is she has called me Jennifer and Amanda
Kaitlin'smom replied: lets see
my Name is Diana
so I have been called
Di (thats fine usually what I go by)
Diane (hate this)
Deanna
Deann
Anna
and the weirdest one........Beth ( )
I think that is.....
MM'sMama replied: Well my full first name is Karahgin (like the ice skaters last name though my name has nothing to do with it). And I still to this day have no clue what made my parents pick that name my twin brother got a normal name Alexander. All my other siblings got normal names too.
I've been called
Karah-Jean
Karah-Gain
Karah-Sin
Karah-Gin (like the alcohol)
and the list goes on and on and on
