Mind if I brag for a moment... - I was really impressed.

Anyways, Ashley likes to play store. We usually make the items in the store $1, $2, or $3... numbers that are easy to add up. It's a good way for her to practice making change and she loves to play it. Yesterday, she set up the store and told me everything in the store was $5. I bought 5 things and she immediately told me that was $25. I asked her how she added that up so fast and she said that they are learning to count by 5's in school so she just did "5" five times. So, I gave her $30 and she gave me $5 change. (play money). I was so shocked I was speechless. It's such a weird feeling for her to have all this hidden knowledge... if we hadn't played store, I wouldn't have even known she knew how to count and add by 5.

I'm the same way, when the kids mention something that I didn't know they had a clue about. It amazes me what they're capable of, and I always kick myself for so greatly underestimating them
