Might be fun...post your stats and first post! - Go find your first post at PC...

I might just be totally lame and no one may want to do it, but I thought it could be fun!
(Mine is slightly embarassing...oh well) Also, if anyone wants to, it might be fun to see how many posts you've made since you joined and when you joined, how long you've been here... I'm glad I ran across you all, and I'm happy to be a part of the PC community. Thanks for letting me be a part of the group!

Hey everyone! I'm Amanda, I'm new here obviously! I'm 26, and I have a 2 month old son named Ashton, and *BIG SURPRISE* I'm pregnant AGAIN. And no, I'm not joking. wacko.gif We found 3 weeks ago, and I pretty much had a nervous breakdown, because this was totally not planned...and we are also dealing with a lot of financial stress right now and can barely imagine the extra cost of having another baby in the house right now. Anyways, I realized that I'm going to need alot of support these coming months, and I've been trying to find a good forum to join. I'm not really new to the whole board thing, because I was active on one when I was pregnant with my son, but that site sort of disbanded after he was born and everyone kind of picked up and left... sad.gif I really enjoyed having the community of all that, and getting help and support from all the other moms, and this time around I'm going to need it even more. So that's why I'm here. Anyways, more about me-I've been married for going on 5 years this June to my DH Ryan, and we live in CA. We tried for about a year before we got pregnant with Ashton, so this came as an even bigger surprise considering that. And I'm also breastfeeding, exclusively, and we've only just recently started having sex again (sorry, TMI)...it was after the 2nd time that we found out about this baby. So, as you can see, everything's a little overwhelming and complicated right now...sorry to babble, I'm really glad to be here! I hope to get to know all of you in the coming months, and please feel free to ask me anything I may have forgotten! If you made it this far, congrats! Thanks for listening! laugh.gif Hope to talk to you all/meet you soon- Amanda
C&K*s Mommie replied: I will not bore anyone with a repeat of my first post, but our girls have changed significantly in just expanding their love for one another. I enjoy watching them every single day take the time to care for one another. They surprise me all the time. Even before Kel was born, we just knew that C would "talk" to her or something when she woke up in the AM. After Kel made her appearance in the world, the "talks" stopped. Our baby girls love for each other has grown tremendously, and I look forward to seeing how much more it can grow.
I, have become more confident in parenting just by reading and talking with others. You cannot just stop a stranger on the street and ask them random questions about parenting, but in communities like this you can. I appreciate that. I also have become more outgoing, since becoming a mother. I am still reserved and introverted at times, but because of that common link with other mothers, I know there is that one thread that we have alike. With that I can carry on more than a one sentence conversation. It may be more like 3 or 4 sentences!
Brias3 replied: I have to agree with everything Nicole wrote and wanted to add that it might seem silly, but PC also allows me to have "friends" like you all who are just mine, KWIM? It's so different and refreshing to have this group of people you can count on without even really "knowing". Hope that makes sense....all in all, I just mean I appreciate you all and love the time I spend here

This was my first post...it was a response to Schnoogly's request for baby toy ideas. So weird to go back and see all those old "faces' supermom, schnoogly.
We have an doorway bouncer in the upstairs bathroom door way. I shower and play peek-a-boo with my little monkey. She loves that thing! we have an exersaucer downstairs that keeps her occupied while I am preparing dinner. Katherine likes to be vertical and bouncing makes it great!

Cary BTW, some things never change. she's almost 4 and still a bouncy little tigger.
This was the first thread I ever started. M2A was the first response to me. LOL for my 7.5 month old to never crawl but to go straight to walking? Katherine rarely rolls over, except to get at a toy that is out of reach. She can pivot very well on her belly but she has yet to push her tummy off of the ground. She sits very well and can get from a sitting position onto her belly without bonking her nose. Her favorite thing right now is to chase the cat around the house while daddy or I hold onto her hands to help with her balance. She has the stepping thing down and she knows her way to her favorite spots in the house. I am just terrified that she will be walking next month or something. Please tell me that it can't happen yet...please? BTW, she is very lean (14.5 lbs 2 weeks ago) but average height. Her upper body strength is lacking but her legs are very stong. I'm attributing that to the use of the doorway bouncer.

Hi, my name is Kelly. I am mother to Logan (11 months) and wife to Aaron. I also work full time. Logan was, until recently, sleeping through the night with just an occasional whine or two. But for the last few nights, he has woken up screaming ( for 5-10 minutes) at midnight. I can't figure it out. I haven't varied his bedtime routine and have tried feeding him more. Is this normal? I can't ask my mom, she'll worry it is a sign of his heart problem. I don't think it is. Do babies having growth spurts do this? Please, any advice is welcome. I am about to pull my hair out.

And to everyone else: it's really fun to see how much us and our kids have grown, huh? In just the short 5 months I've been here, I've developed great friendships and supports from you all, so thank you! to Bria's comment!

When I joined Emily had just turned 8, Spencer had just turned 6 and Claudia was 8mths.
I can't believe my first post:
Hi I'm new here. I have an 8 mth old daughter born September 12. We started her on solids shortly before she turned 6 mths and she loved them! Last week she became very constipated and started to refuse her solids. Our Public Health Nurse suggested giving her prune juice and when that didn't work we gave her baby prunes, which she loved. She started taking her cereal again, but has been refusing to eat vegetables, so we were giving her a lot of fruit. Over the weekend she got the stomach flu and now she has a cold! She doesn't seem to want to eat any solids and is nursing every 2-3 hours! She is very tiny and we have her weighed at the Health Unit every 2 weeks. She was always in the 25 percentile for her age and has dropped to the 10 percentile. She now weighs 14lbs 5.5oz (was 5lbs 15oz at birth). Will she be okay just nursing and how often should I try giving her solids? We will be seeing the Lactation Consultant on Monday for a weight check and just to see how things are going!
Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated! My breasts are so full from all these extra feedings! I don't know what to do!
Thanks, Kirsten & Claudia

Well...I was going to post my 1st post, but it isn't there for some reason. I remember what my first post was and that isn't it. I came on asking for information on c-section insisions and wether the itching and redness was normal
