Meal ideas/suggestions - for Jack
moped wrote: I am trying to get him on more "people" food................but I work and when I get home don't have enought ime to prepare a meal for him,s o it ends up being baby food (junior)
Any ideas on meals for him that he can chew and that I can maybe prepare the day ahead or something?
And, what is/was your 1 year olds favorite treat?????
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison's favorite thing was PASTA PASTA PASTA. I would cook different types of pasta--corkscrew etc. and serve with different sauces, shredded cheese, alfredo, red sauce etc. She would eat it any time I fixed it. Then I started putting other things in it like peas, cooked carrots, squash etc. I also fixed green beans a lot and let her eat those right off the tray. Cooked carrots cut up are easy to prepare ahead of time---you can buy frozed veggies and just warm them up until they are pretty soft.
You'll have fun with all the new "people" foods!!
mckayleesmom replied: I always bought alot of those Gerber Graduate meals for McKaylee....and lunchables and stuff that I could get her to eat. They also make some soups in the Gerber Graduates and she loved them. McKaylee always liked Graham Crackers and cheese sticks to snack on...She is still really really into string Cheese and Apples now too.
coasterqueen replied: Kylie just ate what we ate. She had almost all her teeth except 2 year molars (if I remember correctly) by then so she was eating just about anything. Her favorite snack was raw baby carrots or apples...not most people give those to their one year old though.
mckayleesmom replied: McKaylee was on board with the carrots too...and cherry tomatoes
mummy2girls replied: jenna loved anything pasta. I usually cooked the night beofre and then froze the food for her.. so i can just come home from work, and give her. jennas favs were... spagetti, potatoes, gravy, corn, fruits she didnt eat meat for the longest time!
what i did was home made her meals and blend them until she started to get teeth and be able to chew, but i always bought her fruit in jars. but i did also give her fresh fruit as well!
TeagansMom609 replied: Teagan LOVES Gerber Graduates. Cute little meals you pop in the microwave for 30 seconds and its never too hot. I still cut up alot of the food that comes in them though. (Im paranoid I guess) I would try those.
moped replied: Actually we don't get Gerber food here - -UGH, but I am going to the states soon so I will stock up BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where is the best price??
mckayleesmom replied: Probably walmart...you might see if you can order them or something.
gr33n3y3z replied: what ever you eat feed it to him Just cut it alot smaller for him and he will like it alot better then that nasty baby food

My2Beauties replied: Well Hanna loves applesauce and cut up bananas too. But mostly Hanna eats what we eat, we make sure it's not too hot, then we cut it up for her in baby bites and she goes to town! She loves pasta, mac and cheese, peas, corn, the child will eat anything!
