Married - how many years?

We've known each other since 93, have dated off and for a few years before being on for the last 7 years... we were married "twice", but we only count since the family included wedding, it'll be 4 years in may.

DH and I eloped 2 weeks before our wedding. Everyone was driving us nuts! 10pm we drove to the preachers house and got married in his living room while he and his wife wore their pjs. My sister wore my dress a few years later and we wasted alot of money but it was better that way. I hate the stress.

Well......I got pregnant before we were married and although my family really couldn't care less about all that, they still constantly asked us when it was going to happen. It's not that I don't want them to know, but we didn't and still don't have the funds to have a nice wedding so we just decided to go and get it done and then have an actual wedding when we can afford it. We haven't told anyone cause we don't want any hurt feelings and personally......I'm sick of all the comments. It's our life and we'll live it however we choose.
Soooooo.......you guys are the ONLY people who know.

Personal choices huh? I would think they would be happy that you're married, even without a big wedding. Or is it that your just holding back to spite them because they ask so much?

We have no money for any kind of wedding. And I really didn't want to load up the courthouse with my family/friends for a simple ceremony. Trust me, I DO NOT want an extravogant wedding, I'm not that kind of girl, but I would like to have a nice reception where people can eat and dance and all that fun stuff. It'll happen when we're good and ready.

We kind of did the same thing. We were married at the JoP... had a big BBQ afterwards and told everyone that showed up that they were welcome to our wedding reception.....lol

It was only a few years later that we had a wedding... but it was a big wedding.

A&A'smommy replied: we have been together for 5 years and married for 4.5.. our anniversary is May 10th We will no longer celebrate our anniversary because we will be getting ready for a birthday party (Autumn is due in May )

We've been together for 15 years though. It took me that long to train him, LOL.

We do things fast around here, huh? Married about 4 months after we started dating, and 2 kids in 2 years

But, we dated twice in the past (once in 7th grade, once in high school) and we've been great friends for about 15 years.

(March 5th will mark 10 years together...wow, 10 years with this man! Still love him just as much, probably more! )

Things went fast around us too CeCe, er...not the marriage part but the preggo part....LOL! I was preggo after 9 months of dating

my2monkeyboys replied: We met 17 years ago this Feb 15 (I was 14), and dated for a year, broke up for 2 years, then got back together again. We'll have been married 10 yrs at the end of May.


ETA: I just realized I've known him for over half my life now...
