Man..Carseats are not

Boys r us wrote: Mommy friendly!!!

I was cleaning my car out yesterday afternoon and I took the carseat out so I could vaccum under it. Well, when I was done and I was trying to put it back in and figure out those stinking latch things, the back door closed on me and I had the child safety locks on emlaugh.gif so I couldn't get out..well..without climbing through the seats and getting to the front door! It was pretty funny, but man it took me forever to get the seatbelt just right and the latch things hooked on and tight enough!!!!

amynicole21 replied: I know!! Nightmarish! DH always does it, but it takes him a good 30min to get it tight enough. For that reason, we NEVER take the seat out of the car unless we have to. I can't imagine switching that seat between cars every day wacko.gif

jem0622 replied: I always put my knee (with all body weight going into it) into the seat. Also, I twist the buckle several times before securing the belt in the buckle. That seems to help.

If you have leather seats then you can get some of the rubberized shelf liner or a Glad Neat Sheet and put it under the seat to keep it nice and tight in it's place.

Don't forget...pull the seat belt out to it's full length so that it locks properly when you have it as tight as it needs to be.

When it doubt, find a tech in your area and they can fit it for you.

Elle replied: Ooohh that's why I never take the carseat out! I can't imagine all the crap that must be accumulating under it, since it has been there ever since Brighton was born rolling_smile.gif

beckamouse replied: Next time, take the car seat to your local fire station or police station, tell them whats up and they will gladly help you out i'm sure

coasterqueen replied: Yeah, that's why I make DH take it in and out to clean. Otherwise it always stays there. I don't think I've ever put one it yet. blush.gif

A&A'smommy replied: LOL your too funny! rolling_smile.gif

KatieLeigh79 replied: Don't feel bad, I don't know how to take ours in or out either - the one time DH had to was big problems because it was at the airport in Fl when we were waiting to leave the parking lot with him in his grandmas car, security kept yelling at us and finally just told us when we were almost done that next time we had to park in short term parking. blush.gif Bad thing now is the little guy at 11 months has figured out how to get one of the arm straps unhooked - I thought that wasnt possible?!?

KatieLeigh79 replied: strange no idea why it double posted my msg? blink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I can only imagine, mine is not to bad but I dont take it out unless I have to, it stays in my car, the nicest thing about mine is you can oull down the fron tot help get the belt through, if it did not have that feture I think I would scream when I had to move it, i remember scraping my hand up with some of my nephews old car seats years ago

Mom2Boyz replied: I know what you mean!!! I have to fight with ours every time I move it from one car to the other.
Guess we should just invest in another one so we don't have to move it back and forth tongue.gif

pinka_star replied: Thankfully DH and I only have one car so we don't have to worry about switching it. But it's such a pain when we do have to take it out. I usually let Dustin do it though, cause I'm sweet like that. lol laugh.gif

Caroline replied: Wow do I agree- those things are sure a pain! Unfortunately for us, the kids travel pretty regularly in both my car and DH's, so I didn't even think twice about it and invested in seats for both cars- trust me, it's been WELL worth it! However, those days of car-hopping will come to an end for us soon....DH's car is only a five-seater so we'll only be traveling as a family in my car once the twins are here!
