Mamogram
amymom wrote: Tomorrow I am having my routine mamogram. I don't want to, I am trying to get up enough nerve to go. Last one was 7 yrs ago, so I guess I have put it off long enough.
Can I please just stay home?!?!?!?!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Not fun to get the girls smooshed. But it is a necessary evil. Keep your chin up. That way you can't see what they are doing to them.
amymom replied: That is so funny. Thanks for that
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: You're welcome. I had to have one a few years ago. Not too fun, but not the worst thing ever. Good luck.
gr33n3y3z replied: NO!!!! You have to go
I'm sure everything will just be fine
Hugs I will thinking of you Let us know when you get your results
MissyKay2005 replied: Glad your going!!! Thoughts and prayers are with you It will be over before you know!
amymom replied: Thanks all! my appt is at 11:00 but I am off to do errands. I will let you know how squished I get.
A&A'smommy replied: Goodness girl i would say that you did put if off LONG enough!! Anyway i hope it goes well update us!!
amymom replied: Ok well I am back. I've been smooshed and poked and proded. All done though. They even gave me an appt card for next year Sept. 29th to have it done again. I am not sure I will be keeping that. We shall see. I know it is important but truth is, my family history has NO breast cancer in it going back 3 generations and my history has tons of other kinds of cancer, so I need a colonscopy and other tests more than I need another mamogram!!! But that is subject for another thread.
Thank you for all your encouragement and well wishes. I will!
ammommy replied: At least it's over for a year. That is the one time that I'm thankful for being well endowed. I hear that it's more painful the smaller you are.
gr33n3y3z replied: Haha your not kidding I'm living proof of the I.B.T.C. and it HURTS like Heck
MyLuvBugs replied: Same here!! I'm going to have to get another one done this year too. UGH. Every 5 years is all I can stand for right now. The girls don't like ot be squished that way.
CantWait replied: Well I have yet to have a mammo, but I just had my annual and pap on Friday, and I wasn't looking forward to that at all. It was over in a quickie though, it won't take nearly as long as you think it will. Good Luck.
A&A'smommy replied: that sucks I have never had a mamogram and I'm NOT looking forward to getting one!!
amymom replied:
Ok did I jinx myself or what? I got a call today, that there is something on the mamogram so they want to do an ultrasound. So never had an ultrasound of my breast before. I was so stunned I forgot to ask which one, what the 'spot' might be or for any other info. They are supposed to call me back with the appt. info. She said it would probably be this week. I'll update when I know something. P&PT's please.
TIA
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Prayers said just now. to you. Now I am super glad you went to the original appointment. Keep us posted and I'll keep saying prayers.
MyLuvBugs replied: It'll be ok Anne. You'll get through it. Ultra sounds aren't that bad, but you might want to ask them if it's possible to get an MRI of the chest. That's one of the lastest things, and it can actually detect tumors and cancers in the breast better than a mammo can.
You're in my prayers. BC runs in my family, so I know how you must be feeling. Holding your breath almost, huh? But positive thoughts equal positive results. (BTW you didn't jinx yourself. this stuff happens to all of us at one time or another.)
