Maddie can tie her shoes!!

I distinctly remember my dad trying to teach me to tie my shoes. I was 4. I just could not get it right so he sent me to my room to practice for awhile. Finally I came running out of my room, my shoe in hand with perfectly tied laces. My dad was so proud of me. I'll never forget that moment.

Yeah. My DD learned early but she does everything early. My son barely got thru kindergarten with tying them. But finally when he was around 6 he made it. But 4 or 5 is normal I think.

Ion was about 4 or 4 1/2 when he learned to tie his shoes. He is in a phase now though where he has to where them untied, with the strings tucked in the bottom of the shoes like all the "cool" guys daddy plays basketball with do it!

booey2 replied: Congrats Maddie, I must say we have never really taught the boys yet . All of their shoes are velcro but I know we need to teach them because as the get older they are not gonna wanna wear shoes with velcro.

Elle has been trying to tie her laces but she just can't get it..but I think she's younger than Maddie, so at least now I know it's pretty normal she hasn't grasped it yet.
