MIA but Back *again* - a pic of a preggo ash included :-P
AshleyRose wrote: Well I have been in Tampa since last Wednesday visiting my Grandma, Brother, Dad, and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law-to-be . Things have been going great. I have my first doctors appointment -in the USA(already had a pre-natal nurse consultation) on Friday.
The pre-natal nurse said I probably won't get another ultrasound AT ALL . WTF? I showed her the pictures of the in-depth ultrasound I had at 15 weeks because I wanted to make sure the doctor looked at them and said everything was okay. So because of that she said I am not going to get another. How do I swindle my way to get another covered by insurance so I can find out if its a boy or girl? Do any of you ladies have any previously used and successful plans or even mere ideas? What should I tell my doctor to get another U/S??
Things have been great here, I feel great as well. I had some breathing difficulties while in North Carolina but I think the humidity of being in Florida rid of them. I swear they were anxiety attacks though because I would only struggle for a good breath when I would talk about something that upset me, scared me, or if anything happened to me, they would come.
So here is a photo of me (looking very asian but I was laughing hard) and let me name the two handsome men I am in between LOL. ...
Starting from the left (your left) its my Father-in-law-to-be, me, and my poppa!!!

And here is a picture of just me (looking pretty mo-mo again ) with the first baby item I ever got: the blankey!!! My mom bought it. And the two bibs that my grandma bought. They didn't have anything yellow so turqoise <sp? was good enough. My gut feeling is that its a boy anyways .

Glad to be back!! I go back to NC tomorrow so I can resume normal posting... but we have dial-up in NC so I become very impatient . I hope everyone is doing well
AshleyRose replied: excuse me, I didn't think they would be so big ..
Maddie&EthansMom replied: You look so pretty. I'm sorry they said you wouldn't be able to get an u/s. I only got one with my first pregnancy. It's good to see you back. Looking forward to you posting more. I'm glad you had a good time in Tampa.
ediep replied: Hi, Its good to see you back. You look so great. I has an U/S at 18 and 22 weeks when I was preg with Jason. The 18 week one was for anatomy, that is where the doc checks that all of the baby's organs are developing correctly. They told me that they cooldn't see a few things that they needed to, so I had to go back at 22 weeks. I had another U/S when I was about 34 or 36 weeks because I told the doc that I was concerned that I was getting huge and I was worried tha the baby would be huge....he ordered an U/S to check the baby's size. They were all covered by my insurance.
Good Luck
aspenblue1 replied: Great pictures. I don't know what you would say to your doctore to get another U/S. I know I had one at 6 weeks because I didn't know how far along I was and another around 20 then at 41 weeks since she was late.
Josie83 replied: Hi I'm glad that you're back! You look so happy in your pictures. I love pregnant belly shots, did you see Lollie's? You too are really given mums and expectant mums a great name lol! xx
amynicole21 replied: Great pics! You were only about an hour and a half away from me in Tampa
I only got one u/s with Sophia, too. I was really bummed. You could say that you aren't feeling the baby move as much as you used to and maybe they would squeeze another in... sometimes there has to be a medical reason for ins. to cover a second. Good luck!
MommyToAshley replied: Welcome back -- we missed you! You look great!! And, your first baby items are sooo cute!
I had about 6 U/S's during my PG but I was high risk. And, we were self-pay so insurance didn't matter. I switched OB's at about 6 months, and the new OB had an U/S machine (4-D) in his office and didn't charge me for a couple of the U/S's. The last U/S that was done when I was about 34 weeks was done because I hadn't felt the baby move all day, which was really unusual for her. I tried everything, OJ and laying on my left side, nothing worked -- I was really scared. So, they told me to come in and they would do an U/S. Of course, as soon as I sat on the table, she started kicking like crazy.
AshleyRose replied: I don't know if you ever did this... but before I got pregnant and even way before... basically all my life I always thought that pregnant women were absolutly adorable. They always looked stunning to me. Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing. But I didn't realize that while I was probably like "Look at how cute that lady is!" she probably felt like she looked like crap! Thats how I feel all the time... no matter how much time I put into looking good. I feel just gross . So you might SAY you looked like a blimp, worn out, or whatnot... but I am sure that everyone thought you looked gorgeous and you really were .
Josie83 replied: What a sweet thing to say! Well, I'm not just saying it, i really do think you're stunning! Its like Lollie, have you seen her pregnancy pctures! The girl's abnormally gorgeous!! xx
Littlejojames replied: God you look so healthy in those pics. Glad you had a good time x
A&A'smommy replied: awwwwwieeee you look SO cute!!! I'm glad your having such a good time! Can't wait for you to be back for good! My thing when I was pregnant EVERYTIME I went to the docters office I got an u/s that is just they way my docter did things... Um have you thought about doing a 3d or even 4d u/s it depends on where you go to get it done but I don't think they are too expensive. Its worth a try I wish I had done it with Alyssa!
My2Beauties replied: I had 4 US during my pregnancy, one at 10 weeks because I had some spotting. I had placenta previa, so they had to do another U/S 8 weeks after that to check the placenta previa and check the sex of the baby. Then I had one more because during my 2nd U/S Hanna had some choroid plexus cysts on her head (which has to be followed up by an AFP test) so they had to do one 6 weeks after that to make sure the cysts went away and they had. Then at like (I forgot) about a month before I was due I guess she said I was measuring small so she got another one ordered....she just measured wrong because Hanna was a hoss!!! I would say the same thing Dee Dee said, say you didn't feel her move that much! They may give you another one. Good luck!
