Rodney (TLCDad) went to the ENT on Friday and the he said that he thought Rod might have tonsillitis? (Rod said he sounded like he wasn't sure) I guess the nodule is on the tonsil and one of his tonsils is also enlarged. He gave Rod some antibiotics to take and then he will have to go back for a check-up and possibly get his tonsils removed.

I am not 100% convinced that it is tonsillitis because I always thought that you had a sore throat with tonsillitis. (I could be wrong though). He's had some sore throats in the past 6 months or so, but not at this time.

Thanks everyone for your P&PT. I hope that the antibiotics do the trick.

ediep replied: that sounds exactly like what my DH had a few months ago. The ENT said it was chronic tonsilitis and it will keep happening until he gets his tonsils out. He hasn't gone in for the surgery because at the follow up visit the doc said that it wasn't urgent sine the antibiotics cleared it up for now.

mummy2girls replied: Thats what is happening with jens dad. he needs to get his tonsils out also. But he has to lose some weight before hand because he is at a weight that could be dangerous to put him under...

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I hope the antibiotics work! My mom had to tonsillitis and she didn't have a sore throat, sounds simmilar to what Rodney is experiencing.

maestra replied: I had my tonsils out when I was 19 for the same reason. My tonsils had huge pockmarks in them, and those would fill with debris. And they were so big that food would get stuck behind them when I ate.

Many times I had tonsilitis, and didn't even know it, because I was acustomed to minor tonsilitis.

When I had them out, it was an easy surgery, but it was painful afterwards.

I hope the antibiotics work for him!

kimberley replied: poor Rod i hope the antibiotics work and that it is not tonsilitis. i had mine out when i was 16 yo and it was not fun. also, i didn't always have a sore throat but almost always had swollen glands. ~~~~~get well soon~~~~~~ vibes!
