Low progesterone levels

5littleladies wrote: The nurse practitioner called me today and told me I have slightly low progesterone levels. Mine is 17.5 and they like it to be at 20 so I've been prescribed a progesterone supplement. I'm nervous but hanging in there. Please keep praying for me and my little one!

Jamison'smama replied: I had low progesterone levels as well--they watched mine but another friend of mine had to use the supplements...everything was just fine. hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: I had mine checked at my request with Sophia, and they were low as well. The nurse wasn't the least bit concerned (I was freaking) and said they fluctuate all day long, so the readings aren't terribly accurate. I told her to put me on prometrium supplements anyway, and everything turned out ok. I'm sure the same will be true for you!

lovemy2 replied: Mine was low with Dylan cause I went early - I think like almost 5 weeks - by the next week it had jumped so much they thought I was having twins....hang in there - at least they are aware of it and giving you the supplements too... hug.gif hug.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I just said a prayer for you and your baby. 17.5 is not bad at all but I'm glad your doctor put you on a supplement. Mine was alot lower with Sammy (somewhere between 11 and 13) - I was cramping pretty badly and spotting. My doctor put me on a supplement and I ended up with a 9.6 pound baby boy smile.gif

I'm in my 8th week right now and went for my 1st ultrasound last week. The baby's heartbeat is low and its measuring a week behind. So, this puts me at a higher risk for miscarriage. My progesterone was 13.5 and my doctor wasnt going to have me take a supplement. He said it would just prolong a miscarriage - if that's where this pregnancy is to end. We went back and forth and he ended up prescribing me the supplement. growl.gif

Good luck to you and your little one. Keep us posted. I'm sure everything will be just fine, though. hug.gif

Thank you for sharing this with me. I know that anything could still happen but it is always nice to hear from people who have dealt with the same thing. I'll be praying for your little one too. hug.gif

And thank you to everyone else. I really appreciate the extra support right now!

jacobsmama replied: I agree 17.5 is not that bad we say at least 15 so that is good. I would keep taking the progesterone though just to help! I am saying lots of prayers for you. hug.gif

Hang in there - I'm sure all will be fine. It's great that they are giving your supplements instead of just waiting it out.

Sam & Abby's Mom - could you just be only 7 weeks instead of 8? Maybe the conception date is off? I hope they get it all straightened out for you!!! hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: Just sending you more hugs and prayers. I remember like it was yesterday how stressed out I was with Megan. I was also bleeding, but it's all stressful nonetheless. I will be thinking about you and your little one. hug.gif hug.gif

5littleladies replied:
Thanks Karen. hug.gif I'm just taking it one day at a time. I'm pregnant today so I'm going to enjoy today. (Last night I wanted chocolate cake at 11:30 p.m. so I made myself one tongue.gif )

I have another appointment on Monday with my actual OB and she is going to an ultrasound and hopefully we will be able to see something. I'll keep everyone updated!

coasterqueen replied:
Yum, chocolate cake!!!! Wish I was pg just so I could have some...oh wait no I don't. laugh.gif

You've been down this road before with mc, but just remember if they don't see anything right away on the sono don't give up. They didn't see anything with Megan, just a sac, the first sono. I can't even for the life of me remember what they told me it could be, but my doc and I agreed to wait another week or so and do another sono and see what we see then, and there she was. Of course they think it had to do with a tilted uterus - but at that time I was put on the progesterone stuff and bed rest, etc.

5littleladies replied:
Oh gee! Thanks for the heads up! I have a tilted uterus too and I wasn't thinking about the fact that it might affect what we see. unsure.gif The ultrasound will be transvaginal (yuck!) but even with those they have a hard time getting at my uterus sometimes because it's really tipped!

I'm feeling really weepy and nervous today. I'm glad it's Friday and hubby will be home soon for the weekend. sleep.gif

coasterqueen replied:
hug.gif hug.gif Stay strong. You can do this!!! hug.gif hug.gif

My u/s was transvaginal, too, and with the tilting it was hard to see. I'm sure your doctor is very good and if you don't see something for some reason just bring the tilting up.

Just know we are all here praying for you and thinking of you. I've got a good feeling about this one wink.gif Oh my Dh said he hopes you get your boy this time, he feels sorry for your Dh. happy.gif hug.gif

5littleladies replied:
Lol! I'm starting to think people should be feeling sorry for me! I'm the one who "gets" to be with this pack of cat fighters all the time. wacko.gif

And thank you for the prayers! hug.gif They are much appreciated!
