I know it sounds seriously crazy but they are very sweet even though they are so large...I find it strange that you can become attached to them but you do...maybe it is because I have seen them at their weakest stage of life when they really needed us to help them so they are much more like pets than regular livestock...

Yep Rae only one year! Cookie was about 60 pounds when she was born and she is probably 375 now...Toro was around 75 pounds and he is now over 550! They grow fast and amazingly enough being bottle fed actually stunts their growth. Toro will be enormous when he is mature!

Too funny! I am not saying that we will never eat one that we own...owning them would be rather pointless if you did not benifit from them in some way. It is really hard to understand but once they grow up and are turned out I think the seperation of steak and calf is much easier to make. But these babies are safe!
