Little girl hair - Need help keeping it out of her eyes!

You can sort of see the tail on top of her head . . .
Her hair is finally growing a bit and to keep Dad from cutting it again I want to use something to keep it out of her eyes. All I could find were small hair bands which work OK but I feel like I am yanking her hair to get the darn thing in. She pulls them out which is also OK, and anything that I put in I'd like to stay secure unless she tries to pull it out then I want it to come out so she doesn't pull out her hair. Anyone have suggestions?
cameragirl21 replied: no suggestions, Mary, but i did want to say that she is SO cute!
msoulz replied: Thank you Jennifer! I finally used that digital and got some pretty cute shots.

OH, and regarding the hair, she has most of it on the top of her head which is why the tail is right up there. She also has some on the back but not so much on the sides yet!
cameragirl21 replied: great shot, she looks like such a sweetie! it looks like she has enough hair for a little girls' barrette that you can buy at Target or any kids' clothing store and since it's mostly in the front i think you could just pull it back and fasten towards the top of her head...the further back you put it, the less likely she is to pull it out in my experience, although if it's at the very back then when she lies back on it, it will bother her. she really is SUCH a cutie!
stella6979 replied: You could try using some of those snap clips. Avery doesn't have enough hair for me to use them yet, but my friend's daughter always has them in her hair. They work great.

lisar replied: I say these would work good.
msoulz replied: Ok, I will give those a try. I have seen them and was afraid she would just pull them out along with the hair she has. Thanks a bunch!! I'll be off to try the little barrettes and snap clips!
Calimama replied: Aww take a picture! She'd look so adorable with little hair clips! I can't wait until Bella has enough hair for them!
boyohboyohboy replied: mary if she pull the new clips out and also her hair, then your problems are solved, no more hair in her eyes!
she is such a doll baby. she gets her good looks from momma! now where are the baseball pics of jake?
Brias3 replied: I also used to use those bows mounted on alligator clips for Aliyah, to at least brush the hair off her face and secure it to a side, so it looks cute too. I found a ton online- back in the day, she had a bow to match nearly every outfit
The Blooming Bows link at the top of the homepage has SO many cute ones. I just ordered a bunch of bows and headbands the other day!
redplaydoh replied: No advice, but she's a cutie!
msoulz replied:
LOL this is true Stacy - well, I'm not sure about the good looks part, but pulling out the hair part is!
I'll send the baseball pics as soon as the season starts! We are on weather delay for practices right now . . .
My3LilMonkeys replied: Snap clips work great and with my kids at least they're not that easy for them to pull out!
Nina J replied: I just use plastic headbands, they work great but she might be a bit young to use them. I get them from Kleins but I don't know if they have it where you live.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Naomie has the same type of hair...super long at the front and not so much at the back. I use those little butterfly clips... they hold the hair in place, and if she plls them out, they slip out fairly easily. I also use the snap clips.... but I use about 4 when I put her hair up, because she's fond of them and like to hold them rather than wear them... so when she yanks one or two out, she still has a coupl ein there.
I've also used the tiny elastics...although I don't like to, because they can so easily snap the hair. What about headbands?
Cece00 replied: My daughter had hair like that for awhile and the sides are STILL shorter than the rest but easier to put up than it used to be. I think the clips in that link would work well, I used to use those a lot.
Here are some pics of various ways I used to do my daughters hair when it was short

mckayleesmom replied: McKaylee has the same problem.....epecially now that she gave herself bangs. ....I always buy her these knit hats that she loves to wear.....they are fashionable, she loves them and she gets tons of compliments on her hats.....They work wonders. Right no they are also selling them at most of the dollar general stores for 2 bucks.
This is one of the pics from last year of the hat....it was sitting kind of high on her head here...but usually they are pulled down farther.
msoulz replied: Thank you all so much , and big thanks for the pictures Crystal! I am surprised she leaves the headbands in her hair, I don't think erin would! And I love McKaylee's hat too, so sweet!
I am armed with butterfly clips and the snap clips and some other littlerubber bands. Target didn't have any barrettes small enough but I am going to look for some elsewhere when time allows. The new stuff will appear in her easter basket tomorrow and then we will have some hair fun!
coasterqueen replied: For Megan's I do regular clips, hard to describe them, wish I had a pic. I also do the pony tail on the head and regular barrettes.
HuskerMom replied: I don't have any ideas I just wanted to say how cute her picture is.
kimberley replied: ok those pics are adorable!
i use the tiny elastics. it's the only thing that stays in her hair. the butterfly clips fall out and are uncomfortable when she is in her carseat, all clips fall out cuz her hair is so fine.. i want to try the cloth hairbands next.
msoulz replied: She pulled out the little snap clips right away. I think I will need to use the tiny elastics for a while - and I will put in several of those little snap clips and hope she only finds a couple to pull out then gets bored!
MommyToAshley replied: I was always afraid to use the small little snap clips because I was afraid Ashley would pull them out and put them in her mouth. So, I had her hair cut to have bangs and it kept the hair out of her face. I always said I was going to let the bangs grow out when she got older and I could put barrettes in without having to worry about her putting them in her mouth. But, I think she looks cute with bangs, so she still has them. We may grow them out next year though.
msoulz replied: That's what I am shooting for eventually, but right now all of that hair on the top of her head is grown straight down the front and she looks like she has half a bowl cut around from ear to ear! So I want to try to get that longer and then let the bang hair grow (it's really short under the long stuff right now ).
I am convinced that she has no feeling in her hair at all because she pulls everything out that I put in and has lost some hair with it, but she doesn't fuss!
Oh well, I guess I just keep trying and brushing it out of her eyes!!!!
A&A'smommy replied: Little bows you can buy then at walmart and they are SOO cute they just kinda clip in I wish I could explain it better... anyway those are great, also you can buy cloth hair thingys those are great but kinda ugly. I use the LITTLE hair bands to put in alyssa's hair unless I put all her hair in a ponytail she has such THICK hair now I have to use a big one (like one I would use on my hair ) anyway she is SOOO cute, I love her little pony tail!!
