Lexi's parent/teacher conference - yall arent gona believe this
lisar wrote: Well we went in yesterday to the conference with both of her teachers and they had pulled all of her math test for the first nine weeks for me to see. Well her grades were all in the 80's range. Which is a B. Well the very last test the one that counted for most of her grade she got a 17 on it. That's an F so that brought her average down to a D. Well we got to looking over the test and they graded it wrong she actually got an A- on the test. They wrote in the wrong grade. So she actually has a B in math not a D. I was so happy to find out that she wasn't failing. But at the same time I was upset with her teachers. They apologized at least a million times. And they asked me if there was anything they could do for me. And I told them I would like them to apologize to Lexi. So we called Lexi in to the classroom and her woman teacher gave her a hug and told her how sorry she was and everything and told her that she was gona go and get her something for her birthday because of all of this. And her man teacher just kept apologizing because he was the one who actually graded the paper. And I told them that I wanted the D removed from her report card and I want it removed from her permanent record. So now Lexi got all A's and 1 B on her report card.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I am so glad it got corrected. but dang that is a HUGE mistake. and if it had not been shown to you you might have never known.
stella6979 replied: Well, everyone makes mistakes (even teachers) but I'm glad they got it corrected and that they apologized to Lexi. What a smart girl she is!!!
Danalana replied: I'm sure you're both relieved!
lisar replied: I am very happy. And I know teachers are human and we all make mistakes. I am just glad we caught it.
sparkys2boys replied: Aww good for Lexi! I bet she felt alot better after knowing she had did good!!
It's funny you bring this up, last week Logan's spelling test came home to be signed and he had like 4 wrong which surprised me because he knew them all before the test. I started looking it over andhe had spelled them all right and the teacher had marked them wrong. I sent a note with him and she wrote me back and said she was sorry that after correcting so many papers in the end you tend to scan more then look and that she had seen the wrong letters. Oh well, I was glad it got fixed also and that he wasn't failing..lol
punkeemunkee'smom replied: WOW!!! I would have been TICKED! Thankfully they fixed it and apoligized to Lexi!
MommyToAshley replied: Oh gosh, poor kid. I am glad you went in for the conference and found out that it was all a mistake.

That happened to Robbie last year as well. We know our children best and we know when we need to speak to their teachers. Thankfully you did.
Great job Lexi
My2Beauties replied: That's awesome news!
redchief replied: Good for you for scheduling that appointment, Lisa. Whatever happened to parents seeing tests, looking them over and signing them in the low primary grades? The mistakes would have been apparent long before her grade went onto the report card. I know I've caught teacher mistakes on my kids' papers that way. I can't imagine the confusion that may have stirred in poor Lexi.
Congratulations, Lexi... Keep up the good work!
lisar replied: They are not allowed to send certain papers home with the students. Those test included. We are allowed to go into the classroom at any time and look at them though. Thats why I scheduled the appointment. I wanted to know what was going on because she could do the work at home.
3xsthefun replied: Wow! That was a big mistake! Glad that it got fixed!
