Dear Mrs. Crystal,
I am sorry that it has come to this, but I am removing Tanner from your care. It seems that I am paying for care that is not being provided. This has been going on for a while. There have been times when you have closed early due to your own illness, or Brandy’s. And I understand that this happens. But in that case I don’t have a daycare, which means that I have to leave work, and lose pay. In which case you don’t. You still expect to be paid even when Tanner is not there, and that is not fair to me. I understand that if he isn’t there is my doing then I am responsible, and I have paid that every time. But when you choose not to provide care, or have someone else there to help you, I am not responsible for that. I am not responsible to pay you while your are watching your son play ball. That was not in the contract.
Another issue I have that while you were gone on vacation over Christmas holiday I had to pay you. And that is fine, but I did not need Brandy calling me on Wednesday of the week asking for money. I get paid for doing a job, and providing a service, as do you. During this time no service was provided. I understand that you get holiday pay, how long a vacation do you get?? In any event I have always paid you, and never been late, except in a case when you were closed on Friday. I get paid on Friday, as do you.
I am not paying for this week in care. Considering that I paid you many times when you were not there to provide care, I am considering it paid in full.
As far as us having a contract, I feel that you haven’t stood by your end of the contract. You were contracted to provide daycare five days a week, which you have been unable to do, and that means this contract is null and void.
Sincerely,
Melba Burks

Boys r us replied: Sweeeet! I would let the letter speak for itself, I wouldn't get into it any further with her.
My2Beauties replied: That was good! I totally agree, the sentence about you paying for care when you pull Tanner out though, is sort of muffled...I couldn't quite understand it...it's the 6th sentence in the first paragraph, I think you just had a typo or something! I understood what you were saying after I read it a couple of times though
That is a good letter! Short and sweet and to the point

My2Beauties replied: I can't help it I am obsessive compulsive about proof-reading, I guess I'll get out of that once I graduate college in May I hope!
mammag replied: I would maybe add something about her not even giving notice and that you may have been understanding if she had asked for the time off in advance. Other than that, Great Letter!!!
