SOUTHERN MOMMY wrote: blink.gif Well my Dh and my older brother were in college together and i was in high school (Dh is 9 years older) one night they had some kind of party at the hospital where DH was a intern and he had no one to go with and my brother ask my if i would go with him just to be nice (i still can't believe mom let me) and i said SURE all i could think about was what all my friends would think.Well i went and to tell you thr truth i fell in love that night but, i thought it would never work because he was so much older than me.Well, not a week later he sent me roses to my school wub.gif I was in shock because i had not talked to him since the party and i thought he had never gave me a second look. the card on the flowers said (to the most beautiful girl in the world can i take you out for dinner) What was so sweet about that was he already had asked my parents if it was o.k. Well, the rest is history we married in a three years and are still just as in love now as then wub.gif THERE IS MY STORY WHAT IS YOURS?

ammommy replied: DH and I met the first day of Freshman Orientation at college. We had 4 classes together, became friends, and 8 months later started dating.

Josie83 replied: He moved into my stree when we still in Primary School . . . me and my brothers and sisters used to mess around with him and his three brothers. We started going out when we were thirteen and the rest is history! wub.gif xx

gr33n3y3z replied: In school my freshmen year I threw cookie dough at him
3 months later we were going out and were still together thumb.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Great stories! I have a long history with DH too! I love that we knew each other when we were young...Anyhow, we met when we were 19. He was working in his dad's grocery store and a girlfriend of mine said "hey let's go visit my friend Rich at his work". We had gone to the same HS but I didn't remember him. But as soon as we met, I KNEW he was the guy I was going to marry. I confessed my love after several months of just hanging out as friends...but he said he didn't like me that way. So we both went off to seperate colleges but remained friends. I dated a ton of other guys. Five years later, I finally layed one on him and HE finally confessed that he liked me all these years but was too scared to admit it!! Why does it take some guys so long to get up the nerve?? I swear, Wil would never be here today if I didn't make the move on him!! It was a total When Harry Met Sally in some ways. We would talk on the phone for hours and I would tell him about other guys in my life...little did I know he actually liked ME! Well I actually did sorta know...heehee! wub.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I met DH on Valentine's Day 1996. wub.gif Cupid shot us both in the butt. It was love at first sight for him...I knew he was the type of person I wanted to marry, but I was so young (and on the rebound). It took me awhile to come around, but I did and I'm so glad. wub.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I had just broken up with my ex didn't have any friends because my ex was SOO possesive (well I still had one he didn't know about). I was helping out with this place and this that was also helping well we were talking I told him my sad story and he said that he wanted to introduce me to a friend of his because he had recently gone through the same thing, this guy also had a girlfriend at the time a fellow dancer so I didn't flirt with him because I wanted to keep that friendship. so anyway after he said that he flirted with me MAJORLY and called me constanlty and emailed me a lot. After he girlfriend FREAKED out and decided that I was trying to steal him away (which I wasn't) he FINALLY introduced me to Jeremiah at the holiday inn express on September the 4th, 2002 I believe tongue.gif

~KARA~ replied: WOW sounds liike you all knew your dh's alot longer than I did!

I met my dh February 2001. He came in to my work and needed a job. Well about a week later I was at a bar with my bestfriend from high schoo(A GUY) and saw dh dancing with his friends. I told him to come in to work the following day and I would make sure he got the job. Well he got the job and we HATED each other for 3 months! Fought like cats and dogs. Untill one night I was out and Dh saw that I wasnt the *itch I played myself out to be and we started dating a week later. 3months 1 day later we were Married.

Insanemomof3 replied: James' grandparents were my next door neighbors. We met when we were 9. We "dated" at 10-12, he was my very first boyfriend ever. Then I broke up with him lol. We got back together about 10 years later. biggrin.gif Wow, we have known each other for 20 years now. wub.gif

lisar replied: Me and my dh met 7 yrs ago. There was a girl that I working with at the time that was dating his best friend and she introduced us. nothing major or sweet. The only reson I agreed to meet hiom was because he had a mustang. Well the girl that intorduced us is now out of the pic. (thankfully)

kayla's mama replied: we met thru mutual friends. we all went to six flags. the guy i was supposed to hook up with didn't show up. DH was supposed to hook up with my best friend. I was a total b**** to him the whole day. When I found out he wanted to date me I was so embarrassed cause of the way i acted. I actually lost my friends over him. Guess they really were not my friends to begin with. We've been together now for 7 years wub.gif wub.gif

beckamouse replied: I met my DH at a club 4 years ago. We went out for about two weeks, broke up but remained friends for the next few years. After several really bad relationships for the both of us we decided to give it a go again (I already knew i was in love and going to marry him the day he and i met. i just had to wait for him to wise up) within a week of us getting back together he finally knew what i knew....

JessC replied: Well me and DF met in high school, I had taken a math class and he was in the class, and one of my best buds was always like "oh he likes you" and I was like no no no!

And after that we started hanging out, and he was like I watch you all the time in cheerleading, and I have always thought you were so gorgous. wub.gif rolleyes.gif

MM'sMama replied: DH's family lived across the street from mine and still do. So we grew up together, started dating at 13 and have been together ever since wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif
wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif.

5littleladies replied: I met Dh at church when I was 16. We both had the same winter coat and I put his on one night by mistake-I couldn't figure out why it was so huge all of a sudden and why I had a pair of gloves in the pocket. happy.gif We started "dating" not long after that and after 2 months he asked me to marry him (young love rolleyes.gif ). 2 years later we got married and we have been married for over 8 1/2 years. wub.gif wub.gif

paradisemommy replied: i met dh when i joined the air national guard and was new new up at our unit..i was still in civies (had not left for boot camp yet) and he was one of the first guys to actually come up and talk to me and see how i was and if i needed anything. this was in 2000 - we stayed really good friends - he was in a long term relationship and i was married at the time but both of us were miserable and would cry on each other's shoulders..2 years later, he broke up with his girlfriend and moved her out and i left my husband and moved into a studio and within the next 6 months - i got a divorce, got pg, got married and we bought a new house..talk about the fast track!!! but we loved every minute of it and planned it that way!! wub.gif wub.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: My husband was a law clerk for a firm that was located on the same floor as Children Services (where I worked). Although I had seen him a time or two at church, I had no idea who he was. My plan was to work in this small town for a couple of years and then move to Columbus or Cincinnati. One of the attorneys in the firm liked to socialize with us CSB caseworkers as much as he liked being in court (big shock he's a in politics now laugh.gif thumb.gif ) and kept asking me if I'd met their law clerk who went to my church. I honestly didn't ever see him coming and going ever. One day, he litterally drug the poor guy down to my office, plopped him on a chair and left saying "I think two good Catholics ought to meet each other". This guy proceeded to talk my ear off for the next two hours, making me late for a wedding rehersal I was supposed to be singing at. We made a date for the next weekend to go to the Winter Hike at Old Man's Cave. The next day, my office mate (who was the matron of honor at our wedding) called me because she thought the whole thing was so funny. She went to school with Stephen and always regarded him as shy~not that day cool.gif . For me, it was love at first sight. I went home and told my mom "I met the guy I'm going to marry today". She thought this was pretty laughable as I'd been saying for the past several years I was never going to get married, all men are idiots, etc.

We married after he graduated from law school 2.5 years after we met (21.5 years ago). He is definately still the one! thumb.gif

amymom replied: Well, we met on May 15 at a seminar we both took. He came up to me and said "I've been watching you, and would like to get to know you better." So we worked on a volunteer project together. Then he called me at work a few times, we had a few dates. One day in June he was meeting me after I was done work. As I was leaving my secretary asked who this Lee guy was and I told her some guy I was dating. She said oh no--He will be your husband someday and I know these things. It was weird. So, later that night I told him what she had said, we laughed about it and then I opened my mouth and said ... so should we-get married? so we decided then and there to get married and did the following May 12th. wub.gif 20 years ago. Unbelievable, that it has been that long!!

ions_momma replied: The first time I saw my DH was actually my sophmore year of high school. I was at a basketball game at my school and we were playing against his school's team. I remember we were at the varsity basketball game and all we could talk about was how good looking that guy was. Well we never got a chance to talk to him or anything that night and I eventually forgot about him. Then while I was working at my local YMCA about a year or two later, he came in one summer and was playing basketball on a team in the men's basketball league. I found out that he was best friends with a guy that always comes to the YMCA to play basketball and work out. I knew his friend so one night I asked him who his friend was and if he was single. He told me his name and I realized that it was the same guy from the basketball game! We started dating shortly after that and it pretty much just went from there and now he's my DH and the father of my son!

Josie83 replied:
That is so weird! I swear, that is exactly the same as me and Jason!! ohmy.gif laugh.gif ohmy.gif xx

Summer replied: I have nothing really exciting. We met through a mutual friend when I was a sophomore and he was a junior in college, moved in together shortly after and have been inseperable ever since. wub.gif

mammag replied: We met when I was 16 and he was 22. My sister was dating his cousin (raised as brothers) and we all hung out together. We knew each other for about 4 months and went out one night on his birthday. We took a walk and he told me that he really liked me but that it wasn't a good idea to be together because he was so much older. Well, I guess he couldn't resist because a week later he asked me to be his official escort to a group dinner of about 8 of us and we've been inseperable ever since. He was friendly with my dad and my dad now says he knew we were together but he could tell we were in love and Chris was very respectful to him. In the beginning it was mostly going out with the whole gang. We were together for 4 years before we got married when I was 20.

kel replied: we were set up on a blind date by my flatmate..i had no clue he was going to be there when she suggested going out to play pool and "have a few drinks" one night wink.gif we met on the saturday night..he professed his "lust" for me on the sunday morning.("i dont want to messa round so lets just be a couple LOL).we moved in together on the following friday wink.gif been together for 5 years now:) still madly in love..

b&bsmom replied: My story is kinda funny. I used to bowl in a league on tues nites and my dh bowled in the other league that night. I used to run down to his end fliritng with this other guy and he would say nice game or whatever. My dad was there one night and he pointed to some guy next to dh and said i used to bowl with his dd as a kid and i pointed to dh and said him and my dad said yes. dh looked older but not that old. anyway that bowling alley closed down and i was bowling on my reg nite friday at another alley where we moved to. dh bowled one night subbing for his parents who bowled there. He was talking to me and at the time I was 21 bowling with older people two of which coached me as a kid. Anyway one of my old coaches and good friend of my dad said who is that guy ( cause he would talk to me a little ) I said I don't know just some guy who talks to me now and then. So the older guy asked my dh for his name and I was thinking great now i will know his name. then he turned to me and said see stacy that is all you had to do. I was so embarrased, blush.gif Anyway dh asked me to come watch football ( which i didn;t really like) at his house that weekend with him and his friends. I went and none of his friends were there rolleyes.gif and the rest is history. Although his friends did say later they were supposed to be there but when they found out he finally talked to me and asked me out they decided not to show up. Anyway I sometimes do believe fate had a hand in that meeting wub.gif

MM'sMama replied:
LMBO creepy blink.gifohmy.gif:wub:

But I think we have a wonderful relationship because of it wub.gif and I hope you two do too. thumb.gif

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: My ex had just broken up with me 2 weeks earlier and I was looking foward to being single. Then my mom called me (she was a bartender at a bar in our small town) and asked me to come up there and meet someone. We talked and he called me later in the week and went out and have been together ever since. The funny part is is that my mom was going to set him up with my sister (they are closer in age), but she was already dating someone. But when my mom showed him both our pictures he was more interested in me!! But they wouldn't have even gone on a first date there personalities are soooooooooooo different. But I Thank my mom everyday for introducing me too him!!!! wub.gif

ZandersMama replied: I was standing at the bar in a pool hall waiting for a drink and a nasty former boyfriend approached me and was giving me a hard time. I told him to leave me alone and he said, oh yeah who are you here with. I looked around for the biggest, scariest looking guy in the pool hall. I saw a big guy a table away, pointed to him and then walked over and whispered "pretend you know me." Amonth later, we were engaged, and a year later, married. wub.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
thats a cute story.

stanleygirl replied: I met dh for the first time when I was 12 and he was 19, then he moved away, but I stayed good friends with his younger sisters for years. Eventually me and his sisters drifted, but would bump into each other once in a while. (our friends are so interconnected it's not even funny!)
One day I was hanging out at a friends place and there he was saying he had been noticing me for a while and thought I was really cute wub.gif

We were pregnant with Kieran 9 months later laugh.gif
