Im Katie - 23 from Michigan expecting #1 May 28th, 2003. Names we have picked out atm (seems to change daily) are:
John Robert "JR" - both our fathers first names if its a boy and Lauren Faith if its a girl - totally different from what it seemed for the first 6 months. I have my own cleaning business which im dissolving for when the baby is born so i can hope to be a SAHM but we will see financially... I can hardly wait to get to know everyone and finally find a place to belong!

We couldn't decide on names either... We actually made our final decision at the hospital just hours before she was born. haha. At least we knew what to call her when she came out to greet the rest of the world.
It looks like you and Ellie have a lot in common -- your due dates are not too far apart.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your pregnancies... maybe I can get my "fix" that way. (I've been having the desire lately to get preggy again but I want to wait till Ashley is older)

(great name Ellie, our 2nd son will be named, Anthony Christian). We also have a wonderful Golden Lab named Dusty (wouldn't you know it, another boy...I'm totally outnumbered lol).

Hello everyone, I found your board through the ivillage Feb 03 playgroup and thought I would come check it out over here.
My name is Stacey, and I have 3 great children, Isabel 8 years old, Luis 6 years old, and our new baby Braelyn Alexis Braelyn was born February 22nd, 2003 after 13 hours of "Induced" labor at 39 weeks 5 days.
We decided to induce labor because we thought she was going to be a big baby. She was 8lbs. 6 oz. Around the same as my other two and She was born with no pain medication (only because I asked too late! haha)
Life after having Braelyn is great, she is a very good baby that rarely cries, she gets up 1-3 times at night and to my suprise it is way easier than it was with Isabel and Luis.
Anyway, I hope to have more time to post and get to know others from the board. But I have to go now because it is one of those "rare" times that Braelyn is crying!

A little about me: (Ok a lot)

Birth Story
I have a natural talent for birthing babies... according to my doctor.... I woke up because I needed to use the restroom, and when I came out, back into our room, my water broke at 3:05am. We were in the hospital at 3:40am, dilated to 2, the nurses thought I'd be there all DAY!!
Well to their surprise, they came in and checked me at 5...and I was dilated at 6.... so they said I'd be there all MORNING!!
At 6am, I couldn't take it anymore... I called the nurse, and asked if I could get some demerol or SOMETHING... she said she had to call the doctor so he could approve of the shot... he did... she came back to tell me, and said it wouldn,t be long before I would get the shot...
at 6:20, I called the nurse and told her and told her to forget it, the baby was on it's way... she said you,re joking, right? I said NO-O-O-OOOO!! so she called the doctor again, told him, and he rushed to the hospital (he only lives 2 blocks down the street from it).
Well by the time he got to the room at 6:38, Zach was already crowning... the doctor just barely put his gown and gloves on, and Zach delivered himself!! He half came out on the bed, the doctor grabbed him and pulled his legs out.
So the whole labor and delievery took a grand total of 3 hours and 41 minutes.

Me
I'll be 21 years old on May 3rd, and I live in Ottawa, Canada. My DH will be 23 on April 22nd. We've known each other for just about 10 years, we met when I was 12 and him 14. I was in a bad relationship before DH, and DH was there for me through it all. One day, we were haning out like we always did, but we kissed, out of the blue, while I was still with my ex. That night, I told my ex I was leaving, he didn't care. I took all my stuff (which constituted a major part of our appartment, since I had been living on my own for a few years...) and moved back in with my mom temporarily.
6 months later, DH (SO at the time) and I moved in together. We went to the justice of the Peace to get married, and later that day found out we were expecting. Funny how things turn out, isn't it? lol!
So here we are, 16 months later, with a house, 2 cars, an awesome cutie for a son, and a wonderful marriage. Things couldn't be better!!!

We also are the honored pets of our wonderful master, Monkey the Cat. He has us WHIPPED. lol! He's a silver tabby...he's just precious. I've taught him to *sit* and to *give me your paw*, in order to get a nice treat, or a little plate of canned food or tuna. He's too cute!

One of our current cars, my Camaro, I've recently sold through Ebay to some young guy further up North, and he's making payments on it... so that car is technicaly his.... but it's in our driveway.
******
We also have one of our friends living in our basement - her parents are moving across the country, and she doesn,t make enough money to support herself with the high rent prices these days, so she gives us 375$ a month. She babysits now and then too!

I think I've rambled on enough about myself, I look forward to meeting all of you, and sharing life stories about our kids!

I am 28 and hail from southern california (east east los angeles, almost in the desert) I am a graduate student getting my PhD in european religious history & all I have left is my dissertation which is taking forever now that I have a big distraction! I sometimes teach when I'm offered the chance and I work part time as a writing instructor/writing center assistant director. I'm going back to work finally on Thursday! (Was going to go back sooner but Iain's health kept me home.)
Iain was born with a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of fallot (which is a combination of 4 defects) and required two heart surgeries, the last one 2 weeks ago. We were pretty scared for a while but now that he's *fixed* he's doing a lot better and I don't worry so much.
I'm also an exile from PP (though I still post there occasionally).

maestra replied: My name is Michelle, though I also answer to maestra-Spanish for teacher, during the day. I am 26 (until Thurs.) and DH Henry is also 26. Right now we are ships passing in the night, as I work days and he works evenings. But we are together on weekends, and we are the only people who care for our baby.
Jaquelyn Gabrielle (Jaci) was born 9/23. She weighed in at 8lbs 4 oz, after 33 hours of labor. I was in major denial after prodromal labor and 7 false alarm trips to l&d! Jaci was named for Jaci Velasquez, my husband's favorite singer.
Henry and I were married 6/8/02- oops! We had a nice vegas wedding-at 6 mos pregnant! But it was fun!
I am amazed at how fast Jaci is growing. Yesterday she figured out how to hold something in each hand! Then she laughed as she banged them together to make noise! Pots and pans, here we come!

I have been posting and lurking for a week or so and I really like it so I think I will settle in and formally introduce myself now.
My name is Cary and I'm 32. I work from home doing database stuff for a Medicaid consulting firm. It's really boring and tedious but I wouldn't give it up since I am bringing in $ and able to stay home with my DD Katherine. My DH Woody, 33, is a computer geek, he's an IT director at a local company. I posted our meeting story on that thread. We have a wonderful new addition to our family and her name is Katherine Taylor W. She was born on Labor day (9-2) 2002 so she is almost 8 months old. We also have an old asthmatic cat named tallia whom I have owned for 13 years. She was my first baby but now she is chopped liver. She gets along well with the baby but I don't think she understands why "her" laps are always full with the new little human. I think we will start trying for a second baby next year. I want Katherine to be at least 2 before we bring even more chaos into our home. 
Jenn (Bailey's mom) and I met on the PP September PG and realized that we live in the same town. We have gotten together a few times with our families and I have to tell you, she is one funny girl! Its fun to see how differently our little ones are doing things. I hope Bailey and Katherine grow up together and are buddies...except Jenn will have to move to our side of town. (We are thinking Southwood in the next 3 years Jenn)
I am a former PP poster and I mainly posted on September EC & PG, Happy as i am, Trading Spaces, Breastfeeding and Attachment Parenting boards. I don't spend nearly the amount of time on any message boards as I had in the past. I don't know whether that is because I am more comfortable in my "mommy" status or if I just realized how much of my life I was spending in front of the computer. My IRL friends started making fun of me about always referring to "the girls on the board..." However, I will try to check in at least once a day and I look at all of the pictures, even if I don't have time to post to each individual. You guys have some of the CUTEST babies I've ever seen.

My name is Charlene (25) my husband is Chris(29) , we have been together for a little over 10 years and our 10th wedding anniversary is on Aug 8.
We tried the whole time to have a baby but no luck until we finally accepted that we couldn't have children then BAM I'm pregnant. I think everyone thaught I was crazy, but I wasn't. We now have a beautiful baby girl that we love more than life itself. She has become a handful now that she is crawling , boy is it great.
Good luck to all you expecting moms to be and happy crawling and walking to all babies already here. Cherrish all your time with your little one because it goes by so fast.

I have an interesting birth story that is pretty amazing if you don't mind sitting here and reading. It will be a treat. It started at my baby shower March 30, 2002. The last woman walked out the door. As she was walking down the step, she fell. Well, I got up as fast as I could manage and thats when it happened!!!!!!!!!!  Whooosh!!!!  My water broke and I thought my bladder exploded. That all happened around 7:15p.m. I called the doctor and he told me that I should go to the hospital. But the hospital is about an hour away!!!!! I said ok and then called my sister who is about 1 1/2 hours away to come and pick me up. Oh boy!!! Well, she shows up and we climb into the car with our mom. Thats a ride that should not happen!!!! Video camera on most of the time there. We get to the hospital at 12:10a.m. I am in no pain at all. Just very minor pressure in my lower back. I literally laughed all through labor until the last hour. At around 5:45a.m. I stopped laughing and got serious. Everyone knew the pain was serious. I tried changing positions, sitting in the rocking chair, but of course, when nothing works, get back in bed and wait. I knew it was time when I got the sudden urge take the biggest poop in history!!!!  I kept telling the nurse that it felt so good to push, but she kept telling me to wait, that I was only 9 1/2 centimeters. What?!?!? I don't care!!!!! Well, needless to say, the doctor did not get there in time to deliver. He was there in time to stitch me back up though. I managed to tear just a little. The little bit of demerol did not work good enough, so needless to say, I felt the tear. Well, my angel was born at 6:47a.m. March 31, 2002 That's right Easter Sunday!!!!! She weighed in at 6lbs. 13.6 oz. 20 1/2 in long. I hope you enjoyed the story. I enjoyed living through it!!!

I am orginally from Ohio myself. I was born in Cincinnati but grew up close to Columbus. When I was 19 I moved out with my dh (we were dating then) He was and is in the navy so I moved hundreds of miles away to Virginia. Then we moved to New Jersey and now we are in Florida where I plan to stay. My mom and one of my sisters now lives about 2 hours away and dh is from here so his family is here as well. I do plan on going to OH to visit my dad, other sisters and friends in June tho
I have 3 kids, Travis (8) Taylore (6) and Thaddeus (2) Im planning on going back to college soon. I want to learn more about web design and web graphics so I can get a good paying job by the time my youngest starts off with school.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but I just found out today that i am 5 weeks pregnant. The father is my ex-boyfriend. We broke up about a month ago because I found out he lied to me about his age. We were together for over a year, and I never knew his real age. I was so in love with him...the break up has been extremely hard for me...and this just makes it worse. I am a little lost and not for sure what to do. I know that pregnancy is a beautiful thing, which is exciting, but I am extremely scared at the same time.
If anyone has any advice, please help me out. Thanks!

I have one cat named Miller and a Rotweiller named Juvee. We live in a "blink and you miss it" town and I love it. My 2 girls keep me busy a lot, and I waitress part-time. Guess that is about it...........great to meet you all.
