Laundry Detergents

mckayleesmom replied: I used dreft for about 1 day and realized that as mild as it claimed to be...I was allergic to it...I broke out in rashes wherever her clothes touched my skin....So I switched to the Target brand baby detergent which smells YUMMY...and I used that till she was a couple months old and then switched to Arm and Hammer....which I still use and love.

my2monkeyboys replied: I used Dreft or either dye/scent-free detergent for almost a year. Then I slowly switched. I had very sensitive skin when I was young, so I was an over-cautious first-time mom with Will. If/when I have another baby I doubt I'll use it for more than a couple of months, maybe like one box worth of dreft.
I think it's good to use though at first since their skin is so new and tender.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: We used one thing of All free and Clear in the beginning with both kids. With Katy half of her stuff ended up getting washed at my moms (where we spent half the week) and they used the cheap Costco brand powder kind and she never had a reaction to it.

KingMom replied: I used Dreft for the first year ( I had two large bottles from Costco and some small ones from my baby shower) and they last the whole year! Now we use All Free and Clear for the whole family.

holley79 replied: Thanks everyone. I went out and bought a bottle of ALL baby last night. It made the laundry room smell really good. I was very sensitive as a child also so wanted to make sure I was careful. Some clothes that were given to me, I had to have DH put in the washer because they were washed in Gain. I am highly allergic to that stuff.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I voted no. We never tried Dreft with either kid. We just use Arm & Hammer Dye/Scent free for the whole family.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I use All Baby. I also used a jug of Dreft that my mom gave me and I liked it but the price is too outrageous imo.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I have only ever used ALL free and clear. On Logan's clothes and on my own. I have super sensitive skin and I tried Dreft on my clothes once and broke out. ITCHY!!!

mom21kid2dogs replied: My ped said any "free" (like Cheer Free) detergent was fine so I used whichever I had a cupon for. I used it a year and switched to regular detergent. She has great skin like her Daddy!
