Land or city - you and your house

six_kids_at_28 wrote: Whats your situation like? Whats your town size? Do you own land? How much? An apt? Or a house? Ranch? Farm? Inn? LOL

Well...our town is very small.. 1,000 people ohmy.gif But we are 5 min drive from a town with 50,000 so we are not in the middle of no where....Amish town yes...no where no. wink.gif
We own a big house with a large fenced in yard...no clue how big it is but its not an acre or anything! laugh.gif It fits a inground pool, a playgound...its about the size of what your childrens fenced in area to play during recess looks like lol cool.gif

MomToMany replied: We live about 2 1/2 miles from a town with a population of 92, and about 10 miles from a town of 486. But we are about 50 miles from a city of 7,000.

We live in the country, and have 60 acres of land. Most is swamp or forest (GREAT for DH's hunting!). We want to buy as much land as we can around us to keep neighbors away! We just got a brand new double-wide manufactured house this p[ast June. It's big; 32x80, 4 bed, 2 bath. Our backyard is HUGE; DH keeps clearing more land to make it bigger each year. We have no fence; there's no need for one here.

moped replied: We live in a city of one million in the far far west suburbs in a 2 storey house that was built in 2003.

Good sized lot for the city I guess...............

There was a post once about houses and people posted their house.

Mom2Boyz replied: We live in a city of about 55,000. Our house is right in the middle of town just a few blocks from the hospitals, and there is an elementary school right behind our house (which will be nice when the kids start school)

luvbug00 replied: I can't say much about where I live because It's WAY too obvious! LOL umm for the next week we live in a 2 bed 1 full bath apartment. which is actually really spacious. no yard and nowhere to play thanks to all the little ganglings and unsupervied kiddies. but Soon I'll go home to my parents 4 bedroom 4 bathroom 2 car garage heaven! love2.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Hmmm. Well, we just moved here a couple of months ago. I think the town has 45,000 people?? Not sure. We currently live in an apartment (much to my dismay). But we're looking for a house with at least 1 acre if not 2 achres of land.

3xsthefun replied: We live about 2 miles from a small town I think the population is like 200.

We live back on a country road, and we have 1/2 acre of land that we own.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I live in a big city and in a descent sized house and our yard is about 8000 sq feet so okay for the city.

~KARA~ replied: I live in city limits for the time being. We own our house and will be buying land in the spring so we can start building a house.

My3LilMonkeys replied: We live in a town of 4,000 (college town so the population drops in the summer) about 10 miles from a city of 15,000.

We live in a 2br, 2bath mobile home in a trailer park. So our yard is 10 ft. to each side, 15 ft behind us and we don't really own it emlaugh.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: We live in a small town (2,000 people maybe?) outside of a town of about 10,000 people. We are 15 miles from our state capitol, 500,000 people.

Our 3 bedroom 2 bath house is on 1/3 of an acre (too small for DH) in a small subdivision of about 90 homes.

NikkiM replied: We are in the process of buying a house atm. We are closing next week so I will describe that house lol.

It is 4 bedrooms and 2 baths with a HUGE back yard. I live in a small town, we have to drive 30 minutes to get to a store. The easiest way to describe where I live is saying I am about 45 minutes South West of New Orleans.

toady_buckshot_noodle replied: We own a 3 bedroom houseon 2 lots "in town", pop. 30,000. I want to move badly!!! (house is on the market) I own 36 acres out in the country but my kids would have to change schools so I will probably buy land when the house sells.

amymom replied: We live in a small village about 800 people unsure.gif I think. We have a house (an old Victorian on historic registry) with about 1/2 acre of land. The house is 6 bedrooms 1 (yes one) bathroom. It is the house my DH grew up in. Our village is 20 miles from 4 towns and cities that are about 10,000 people each. So it is 20 miles to any store but the small local market.

But the big St. Lawrence River is down the street a little and you can see Canada across the way wavey.gif

PS: I think there is a picture of our house if you click on my username... I checked yes there is!!

coasterqueen replied: We live in a town that really isn't a town. tongue.gif It has no population either. But we live right outside the city limits of our state's capital of 100,000+ people. For 911 purposes our address uses the city, though. It's all strange. tongue.gif

Anyways, we own 3.5 acres of land right by the river. About 2 acres of it is wooded land and the other 1.5 acres is what we call "yard". We built our house ourselves (well mostly, lol) back in 1999. Before that we lived in what I like to call a little brown shack that was on this property. We bulldozed it down when the new house was built.

I'd never trade living in the country for the city. At least I don't ever think I will. tongue.gif This land has been in my husband's family for generations and all of his extended family own land all down this way where we live, so do my parents so this area means a lot to us wink.gif.

mom2tripp replied: Country Living here rolling_smile.gif

We are currently building on 5 acres our dream home biggrin.gif

We live in a small town of about 20,000 and we are about 1/2 hour away from a big city.

Boys r us replied: We live in a bedroom town of about 50,000 that is right outside of a larger city of about 200,000.

We live in a nice sized brick house on 80 acres.

ammommy replied: Suburban soccer mom, here tongue.gif The suburb is technically a city, but I'm clueless about population. As a guide, though, the HS has nearly 4000 students.

TANNER'S MOM replied: We live very much in the country.. We have alot of land.. here and there. We live in the big middle of 600 acres.. not all of that is ours of course. We had a nice sized farm..on 120 acres.. thought we were down sizing when we moved but in fact... didn't. Ended up buying what was around us.. and have about the same now.. and another lot across the holler of pasture of 7 acres.

We have alot of animals and it takes a lot of space.

We have a huge yard... hate to mow it.. let the horses out to eat it when I can..

House is so so big.. but nice country house!

Oh Population..Not big enuff for a population sign.. we have a gas station that is also a feed store.. and a post office. A community building and thats it.

30 miles to town of 60,000 but that 7 miles dirt road makes it seem like moons away.

KingMom replied: We live in a small town of about 20,000 and about 1/2 between to larger cities.

We are in the midst of building and addition, we will have a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom (two masters with bathrooms) home, about 2300?? square foot. We have about 4 or 5 acres in a small subdivision in the country. I love it out in the country it is so peaceful, we lived in the city for 2 years before moving back and buying a house.
