PrairieMom wrote: Anyone here LOST fans? wanna dish? What the heck happened in that season finale? I am so confused now. Next season is SO far away!
lovemy2 replied: DVRed it - watching it tonite....will check back with you tomorrow
PrairieMom replied: wanna know what happens?
moped replied: I always wished i had started watching it but I find it so confusing so i never got into it!
lovemy2 replied: NO
PrairieMom replied: noone ever does.
msoulz replied: Yes, I watched, and there are so many possibilites for the future . . . which part are you confused about?? I am hesitant to discuss it as the others (pun intended!) in the thread do not want to know what happened, although you did label it possible spoilers . . .
edited to clarify . . .
Farelle replied: HA! HA!! One of my friends and I ALWAYS start off our Thurs am phone call with WHAT!?!?!? I am with ya!! What in the heck was going on?? My hunch is that the girl who parachuted onto the island is with another group of people who want to study the island as well....and maybe not in a good way. The past I didn't like was that Jack is going to turn out a burned out drug user....??? After all he went through on the island and all his heroism...??! The writere had BETTER change that ending before it all comes to an end. I get so lost (no pun intended) when they time travel...is it the past, is it the future? Was Walk really back??? And if Locke can heal from a gun shot will Charlie survive drowning? That eye patch guys (cyclops as Charlie called him) seems to NOT be able to die....so why do other characters die??? I think the whole premise of the show is to just drive us crazy with questions!! And it's working for me!!!
msoulz replied: It did seem like Ben was telling the truth about parachute girl. But did you hear Jack say something to the other doc about if his father is more sober than he (Jack) that he will quit?? I have always thought that Jack's dad is not really dead and is somehow involved in this island thing. And it was shocking to see they were looking forward in the Jack scenes!
And I don't know who is Walk?
Don't you just want to hug Hurley?? Poor guy got rejected by everyone and yet saved the day.
Lock is "special" so that is probably how he healed. And didn't Walt leave the island with his father?? Or did they not get away? Or was he another illusion??
I really love that I can't figure it all out. It's fun! DH said they plan to wrap the series in 2010 but I don't know how they can continue the story for 3 more seasons.
Farelle replied: Yeah it appears as if in this alternate future with drug addicted Jack, his father is still alive. I think somehow things on the island can change things in their real lives. I read somewhere that Charlie was the "kink" in the time travel thing on the island and once he was gone things would change....?? I meant to say Walt, not Walk...oops! Is he back on the island? Or was that just another vision? I agree that Locke has something more to do with the island than anyone else....but what? I do love Hurley! That was a great moment when he came crashing onto the beach in that beat up VW! But I still wonder who died that had Jack so broken up that he was going to kill himself? And who was Kate so anxious to get back too? Didn't she say something like "he'll notice I'm gone".....who will??? I think they'll have no problem confusing us for 3 more years!!!
DansMom replied: I loved it! Great cliff-hangers and questions for next season. I wrote "NOT PENNY'S BOAT" on my left palm today and held my hand up whenever a LOST fan came into my office Their reactions would tell me whether they saw it yet or not. I love how Ben's people are losing faith in him and how hard it is to tell whose side someone is on, the lack of trust adding much to the building tension. A couple of times Ben has said "We're not the bad guys"---that's ominous. And who or what is Jacob? The whole sequence of events in the underwater station was beautifully surprising and unexpected. The writers sure do know how to manipulate us!
I also really don't click with the dismal alternate future for Jack. It just doesn't seem like him at all. Who was in that coffin anyway, at the funeral noone attends? Some people think it's Sawyer. That whole alternate future thing... not liking that as much as the island stuff.
skinkybaby replied: I love this show!
Ugh, February is so far away! I can't wait!
msoulz replied:
LOL!!!
The whole Jacob thing is bizarre too. And I wondered about whose funeral that was. I would think maybe Kate had to get back to Sawyer but maybe she hooks up with someone else later. Why would Jack be so despondant over Sawyer dying that he would consider leaping off a bridge? But then we haven't seen the next three seasons yet - I guess we should talk about this again in 3 years!
My3LilMonkeys replied: I'm not a fan of the future they're showing us either.
Another board I visit with LOST stuff seems to be of the concensus that it's Ben in the coffin. At the end, when Kate tells Jack "he'll wonder where I am" a lot of people think the he is Sawyer and they're still together off the island, but I don't really think so.
But I loved the finale and I don't wanna wait 8 months to watch it again!!!!
Mommyof3 replied: I read online that Evangeline Lilly is pregnant in real life...so does that mean when she told Sawyer that they were testing her too to see if she was pregnant that they are going to write it in? And what the heck did Jack mean when he told her he loved her??? In a friend way? In a romantic way? I am soooo confused! My DH caught on early on that that was the future they were showing, but the thing about asking his father to come down in the hospital got me. I think that the thought that Ben could be the one who died and is in the coffin is really a good one... Do you think when Lock told Jack that he was not supposed to call the ship to rescue them that he knows something we all don't know...and when Jack tells Kate in the end that they were supposed to stay on the island does he finally realize that he had nothing waiting for him to come back to?
Okay....I am so sorry about that rant. I told my SIL last night that I am convinced that the writers of Lost just want to drive us all crazy...lol
Farelle replied: We came up with the theory today that they all got rescued and back onto their previous time line (or life) BUT there is a HUGE gap that we don't know about yet bc they were on a different timeline when they were on the island....it made sense in my head...?? So like Jack is back in his life when his Dad was drinking and messing things up so maybe that's why he is so despondent....he realizes that the island life was so much better....loser Dad, no wife, Kate with another man, why wouldn't he want to jump? .....what was my point???
PrairieMom replied: oh hooo! god catch..I didn't pick up on that.
and WALT is michael's kid. he was kidnapped the first season, then they spent all 2dn season trying to find him. in the season finale Michael delivered hurley, Kate, Jack and some other people to Ben , then they gave Michael and walk a boat and they left the island. I was suprised we haddn't heard from those 2 lately. I wondered if they were really gone.
PrairieMom replied: okay the coffin thing.
I think the coffin looked like it was to short to be for a full grown man. The camera angle where it shows Jack at the coffin from above makes it look like it would be to short for a grown man to lay down in.
