LOL, there was no getting it back!
MommyToAshley wrote: DH left a cookie on his desk. Ashley and I came into the office. She usually plays on the floor while I check my email, etc. Well, she saw the cookie and made a run for it. Before I could get to her, she took a bite. Then, there was no getting it back from her. LOL So, I let her eat it. She is sitting on the floor with the biggest smile saying "YUM YUM YUM YUM" She's never had anything with that much sugar before.
The only thing I am concerned about is that it has pecans (they are chopped really really small, not a size she could get choked on). But, she's never had nuts. The Ped said it was ok to give her peanutbutter at her check-up. I just haven't been brave enough to try it yet. Neither of us are allergic to nuts or have allergies other then hayfever and allergies to cats.
I am sitting here thinking that I probably shouldn't have let her eat it... am I a bad mommy? She was just so darn cute with it.
Mommieto2Girls replied: Awe, that's so funny, I was told not to give pb until 2 years old. No nuts either. But she will probley be fine. Your not a bad mommy. Maddie gets ice cream once a week and just loves it, DH gives her soda, not to much but enough to drive me crazy about it. There all getting stuff their not supposed to, so I would worry to much about it.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: LOL!
She will be fine. Just as long as you don't let her have junk food ALL the time. You aren't a bad mommy at all. I think it is cute.
Heather replied: AWW, I bet she just enjoyed herself too much!! You aren't a bad mommy!!
CantWait replied: I think she'll be fine. Robbie was eating anything and everything at 1, thanks to my grandma who we were living with. She spoiled him with cookeis and cheesies. You also bf Ashley, so she's got that tolerance to alergy's. You're definetly not a bad mommy.
A&A'smommy replied: AWWWW LOL thats cute!!!!! I bet she will be fine!!!!
amynicole21 replied: She's quick, huh She'll be just fine... don't worry about it!
DansMom replied: That sounds so cute!
supermom replied: I bet she was fine....and you are not a bad mommy!!! WTG Ashley, you know what good food is, dontcha? Anders said he'd share his cookies........
Twindaze replied: When my oldest was a baby... some 11 1/2 years ago... I was SO careful. I strictly nursed her until 6 months and then started food slowly.
One day we were out with my father and stopped to get ice cream cones. I had about half of mine left when I had the brilliant thought to give Raven a "taste". Her eyes got HUGE, she reached out and got a death grip on my hand (holding the ice cream cone) and shoved the whole thing in her face making sucking noises the whole time! By the time I finished laughing she had eaten the whole thing and the cone was sucked up around her mouth.
It happens to the best of us! By letting her have it, you will always get a chuckle everytime you think of her sitting there eating that cookie! I'd say your a pretty great Mom!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'd heard not to give Peanut butter until 3 years old... I wasn't going to until he was at least 18 months, or if the ped said it was ok....but the replacement daycare sitter when mine went on vacation gave him some peanut butter and jam sandwich, and my mom has given him some peanut butter on a cracker....
I got really ticked off at BOTH of them, but Zach has his 1 year appointment tomorrow (a little late, he'll be 13 months exactly) and he's supposed to get his shots... I'll have DH ask about Peanut butter. He's the one taking Zach - he's not working, and I am.
Kaitlin'smom replied: your not a bad mommy she will be fine, and probably is. That will teach him to leave it lying around. LOL. I cant eat anythng with out giving Kaitlin some so I am now careful what I do eat around her. Cause it I dont she will pull up wherever I am and whine till she get a taste and if she like sit I better share! Like yesterday I wanted the carmel and nut covered apple DH broght home fro the store so i cut one up and ate it when she was napping, it was yummy!
coasterqueen replied: Yummm! I'm sure she'll be fine and just enjoyed it, mom DH has given Kylie sips of soda and candy, grrrr. He gave her a sucker the other night but took it away from her when she bit a piece off. I must admit I have given Kylie some of my ice cream before
paradisemommy replied: i'm sure she'll be fine..too cute the story..i can see it all in my head!! taven loves nuts especially peanut butter..i gave it to him when he turned 1 and he is fine...i would say just watch her to make sure she doesn't have any reactions..
